WWE Smackdown on Friday, July 26 scored a 1.92 rating, up four percent from a 1.85 rating last week.
It was the highest Smackdown rating since April 26. Also, it's a significant jump from a 1.71 rating just two weeks ago.
Smackdown averaged 2.65 million viewers, up three percent compared to last week's viewership. It was the most viewers in two months dating back to June 7.
- On cable TV Friday night, Smackdown ranked #4 in overall viewers, #3 in males 18-34, and #1 in males 18-49, which has been rare during the summer.
Smackdown was buoyed by a big jump in the males 18-34 demographic, up two-tenths of a rating from last week to the highest rating since the Smackdown after WrestleMania on Apr. 12.
Smackdown also jumped nearly two-tenths in males 18-49 to the highest rating since Apr. 12.
- One year ago this week, Smackdown scored the exact same 1.92 overall rating against the Olympics Opening Ceremony.
Caldwell's Analysis: Impressive showing for Smackdown. Perhaps the additions of a fresher act like Rob Van Dam and a "Raw act" like C.M. Punk to the regular Smackdown line-up is helping draw in people to the Friday night show. | |
