Rumor: Tito Ortiz Headed To TNA Wrestling

It was just announced on the Bellator MMA event on Spike TV that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson would not be fighting Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match on pay-per-view at the end of the year as rumored. Instead, it will be Rampage in his home, the cage, fighting former friend and training partner, and the newest surprise addition to the Bellator MMA roster, Tito Ortiz.

Ortiz, who was retired, has signed a deal to fight for Bellator MMA, his first MMA home outside of the UFC in his career. While unconfirmed, it is possible Ortiz signed a joint deal with TNA iMPACT! Wrestling, as the MMA star has worked for the organization in the past with King Mo and Rampage Jackson. This is likely another "package deal" that will include Tito Ortiz in TNA as well.

Could Ortiz be the #August1Warning mystery-man? It sure looks that way but tune in to find out on Thursday's edition of TNA iMPACT! Wrestling on Spike TV.

Bringing in Ortiz was such a bad idea on Bellator's part. They're starting to look like TNA, in that they are hyping talent that was popular in a different organization years ago. I can't imagine Ortiz vs. Rampage doing very well on PPV, just as I couldn't see Ortiz doing well back in TNA.

It's one thing to market each other's brand, but it's another for TNA to "use" so much MMA talent. I don't think it's really of much benefit to either organization.

I'm starting to wonder if this all Spike TV and TNA is just with their back against the wall? With Bellator moving to it's own night (Which i heard is the rumor), i think they are trying to get some of the Talent on Impact in hopes that they would follow them into Bellator as well.

These package deals sounds like something Spike TV is working out, to get them on as much TV as possible with limited payment.

Anyways, I'm starting to think Spike TV is behind all these package deal signings. Since losing UFC, their hoping Bellator could grow similarly and doing anything possible to promote it.

They need to pick up someone good like Chael Sonnen...

Sonnen is in the UFC (Bellator's competition.) TNA just needs to focus on keeping their budget tight and staying out of trouble, PR-wise. The company looked real stupid with #AskDixie and cutting Sorensen.

Tito Ortiz appearing on iMPACT! was done in order to help promote the upcoming PPV fight with Rampage Jackson.

It's a Bellator/TNA cross-over deal similar to King Mo and Rampage Jackson. SpikeTV is the one pushing for this stuff to happen as it's very smart for business no matter how much fans b*tch and moan about it.
