Reason Why Miz Was Selected as the Host of Summerslam

The reason that the Miz was selected as the host of this year's Summerslam PPV is that he is looked at as the top social media representative for the company. The company wants to make a big social media push for the event, and Miz is a big part of that. Miz will be using Google Glass during the PPV, which will allow him to send photos and videos to various social media platforms.

In an interview with Mashable, WWE V.P. Perkins Miller spoke about their social media plan…

"We can use social media as the glue that connects all of these things for our fans who can't be in Los Angeles as well as the fans who are there. It creates a unified experience we weren't able to have before."

Miz is also scheduled to represent WWE for the Playstation launch of a live event streaming App. For the first time, SummerSlam can be ordered via the Playstation Network.

I think Miz is underated by the company at times.

Or it could be the fact that he wasn't gonna be in a match so they was gonna throw him somewhere in the PPV because he's the Miz.

If I'm the Miz I'd be pretty sad..

Why would you be sad? Surely its better to take any chance you get, and to do it with good grace. He's still on the show, and will very possibly get more airtime than anyone else over the course of the PPV. He's going to have his face all over Summerslam, and if I were in that position, I wouldn't be complaining.

If I'm a wrestler I want to be wrestling on the Summerslam card not being the host [since when do they need one they could use the time in a more effective manner imo?..].

It is better than nothing but at the same time not exactly my ideal role at SS, or any PPV, for a wrestler.

So you'd rather have 10 minutes airtime and wrestle, than spend the entire show onscreen and talked about, something that is probably better for a career?
