Some breaking news over at Variety who just reported that Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski is in talks to direct the bigscreen version of The Twilight Zone for Warner Bros.
While the Tom Cruise-starrer Oblivion wasn’t anything fresh, I really was impressed with the aesthetics of the film, and how enjoyable it was. Kosinski gets a big ol’ thumbs up from this writer.
The story is said to “follows a test pilot who winds up breaking the speed of light; when he puts down his craft, he discovers that he’s landed a bit late for supper — 96 years late.” Joby Harold, Tony Peckham, Rand Ravich and Jason Rothenberg all worked on the script.
As previously reported, the companies are not seeking to remake an episodic movie, as the only big-screen version of the show did 25 years ago, but rather hope to build one continuing story line based on one or more episodes. It’ll be one director and one storyline.
