Academy officials have now determined that Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese are double Oscar nominees this year for "The Wolf of Wall Street."

When nominations were announced on Thursday, it was the only Best Picture candidate that said "nominees to be determined" rather than listing the actual producer names. The two men are nodded along with Emma Tillinger Koskoff and Joey McFarland.

The committee charged with making these decisions will normally go with the same nominees as determined by the Producers Guild, but this time is different. For the PGA Awards Sunday night, the "Wolf" nominees were Koskoff, McFarland, and Riza Aziz (who has been ruled ineligible at the Academy Awards). DiCaprio and Scorsese were not PGA nominees.

Along with his Best Actor bid this year for his role as corrupt stock broker Jordan Belfort, this marks DiCaprio's fifth career nomination. His first was for supporting actor in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" (1993). The next two were both for leading performances: "The Aviator" (2004) and "Blood Diamond" (2006). He has yet to win.

The decision today brings Scorsese's career total to 12 nominations. His only victory was for directing "The Departed." Other directing nods were for "Raging Bull" (1980), "The Last Temptation of Christ" (1988), "Goodfellas" (1990), "Gangs of New York" (2002), "The Aviator" (2004), and "Hugo" (2011). He was also nominated for writing "Goodfellas" and "The Age of Innocence" (1993). His only other producing nomination was for "Hugo."
