Capcom has revealed Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3 sold 1.2 million copies as part of its annual financial report.
The report, which covers the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014, revealed Monster Hunter 4 was the stand-out performer however in a year that saw both sales and profits rise.
The company revealed Monster Hunter 4 has enjoyed "explosive popularity", shifting 4.1 million units to become Capcom's sixth best-selling game of all time. It's set to launch in the west next year with additional content, which is sure to push the figure even higher. Resident Evil Revelations was the company's third game to sell over a million copies last year.
Other strong performers include Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, which enjoyed "firm sales", while Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies "basically achieved" its target and DuckTales Remastered experienced an "over-performance".
Less successful was Lost Planet 3, which had sales "below expectations", which the company opted to blame on "intensifying competition in the European and US markets."
All-in-all sales rose 8.6 percent to ¥102 billion ($1 billion), while profit rose 15.9 percent to ¥3.4 billion ($33.8 million). Looking forward, Capcom plans to release online-focused titles on both PC and other platforms, with Deep Down also due to arrive in Japan and, if we're lucky, elsewhere in the world too
