Rebuilding Samoa JoeFor a while there, the TNA detractors had a legitimate complaint about how the company was using Samoa Joe. He went through a period of time where he was booked as a whiny babyface, which took away much of his appeal.
Toughness has always been the thing which made Samoa Joe stood out. That's how he was able to tear through the X division and become a huge star. His "no nonsense" style was a highly welcomed addition to the fast paced division.
An 18 months undefeated streak helped Samoa Joe ascend to the top of the ladder in TNA rather nicely.
TNA then went with a different route for his character. They turned him into someone that was constantly whining about how things were going. He became someone that went against management.
It didn't work out too well.
TNA must have realized this somewhere along the line, so they decided to bring the toughness back to Samoa Joe. His character became darker and more aggressive.
That in turn has brought him that much closer to being the centerpiece of TNA once again.
Day by day, the anticipation of Samoa Joe reclaiming the TNA World Heavyweight Championship grows. With every display of dominance that he shows, fans are clamoring more and more to see it happen.
The former TNA X Division Champion promised to tear through every single member of the Main Event Mafia, and he's already shown plenty of progress i that goal.
TNA should spend the next few months building up programs for Samoa Joe against Kurt Angle and then Sting. After he tears through them, he should have enough credibility to become the world champion again.
It would be great if TNA could figure out how to keep the strap around Mick Foley's waist until they're done building up Samoa Joe.
A hardcore match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship between Samoa Joe and Mick Foley could do wonders for the Samoan star.
Not sure just how much Mick Foley has left in the tank, but if he can pull out one more performance to get Samoa Joe over, then things would be even better overall for the company.
Keep in mind that Mick Foley takes a lot of pride in elevating other wrestlers. Look at what he did for Randy Orton and Edge in WWE. They became bigger stars after working programs with Mick Foley.
While Samoa Joe is more than capable of becoming a main event wrestler on his own, TNA is planning on adding a secret ingredient in the coming weeks.
The Samoa Joe recipe for success is about to have a pinch of Taz added.
The former ECW World Heavyweight Champion is expected to make his official TNA debut soon. His role will be that of an advisor for Samoa Joe. The company has been teasing his arrival for weeks now.
With Taz by his side, Samoa Joe should have an additional element as he ventures back to the top of the ladder.
Cause of DeathThe official cause of death for Mitsuharu Misawa is a damaged spinal cord. It was not a heart attack as first thought.
SoBe Sues WWESoBe Entertainment has filed a lawsuit against the Big Show (real name Paul Wight), his wife Bess Wight, and WWE.
The lawsuit stems from a failed agreement between the Big Show and SoBe Entertainment. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion signed a 5 year exclusive deal with SoBe Entertainment to "act as a performer, entertainer, actor, boxer, wrestler, athlete and celebrity person".
The deal was signed while Big Show was pursuing a boxing career. However, his pursuit of that was dropped rather quickly, and he decided to return to WWE. SoBe Entertainment feels that was a violation of their agreement. They now seek $15 million in damages.
SoBe Entertainment paid the Big Show some money up front. The company gave him $2 million to cover his costs of living and his boxing training. They also gave him $1 million to purchase a home in Florida.
As of right now, neither WWE nor the Big Show have responded to the lawsuit. It is expected that they will respond very soon, though.
Commercial Free Raw DetailsSome details have emerged as to the reasoning behind next week's episode of Monday Night Raw being aired without any commercial interruptions.
First and foremost, for those of you that are still confused by this entire thing, Donald Trump has no authority in WWE. It's just a storyline. He had nothing to do with next week's episode of Raw being aired without commercial breaks. That decision comes from the USA Network.
The USA Network wants to experiment with a commercial free version of Raw. They're doing so to see if the ratings will remain strong without commercial breaks. Right now, the company believes that a lot of fans tune away when the show goes to commercial break. The USA Network needs to have high ratings from WWE to increase their overall numbers.
If you're wondering if the lack of commercials is going to hurt WWE financially, it won't. When Vince McMahon failed to sign a television deal with another network, he had to settle for whatever offer the USA Network had on the table. Unfortunately for WWE, that deal meant that revenue from advertising would all go to the network and not Vince McMahon and friends.
If the ratings does well next week, then there's a very good chance that the USA Network will make it a more permanent thing.

Donald Trump Buys WWE RawOn Monday night, Vince McMahon strolled down the aisle of the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. He promised a huge announcement for wrestling fans.
Vince McMahon announced that billionaire real estate developer Donald Trump had purchased Monday Night Raw from him.
The Chairman of the WWE then announced that starting next week, Donald Trump was taking over the show. Next week's episode of Raw is scheduled to be a unique one - no commercial interruptions for the entire two hours of programming.
Monday Night Raw now belongs to Donald Trump.
First and foremost, I feel the need to clarify that this is just a storyline. Donald Trump is not the owner of Monday Night Raw. Vince McMahon did not sell a piece of his company to him.
There are a handful of wrestling fans out there that believe that this "transaction" is real. Many of them are already on various wrestling message boards talking about how much Donald Trump is going to change things.
Once again, this is just a storyline.
This entire thing is a publicity stunt concocted by Vince McMahon to gain more attention to his company. He found a willing participant in Donald Trump, who is not one to avoid the spotlight for very long.
WWE is trying to do a marketing blitz right now, and they're hoping to see some major results in the immediate future.
Just take a look at what the company has been doing as of late.
This week, they produced a three hour special episode of Raw that included three big title matches.
Over the past few days, they've had a couple of title changes (Batista, Tommy Dreamer, Kofi Kingston, CM Punk, Randy Orton) to induce some interests from the wrestling fanbase.
They're also promoting a big Last Man Standing title match next week between Triple H and Randy Orton. That's not usually something that WWE gives away on free television.
Combine all of this with the mainstream marketing scheme involving Donald Trump, and it's quite obvious that Vince McMahon is deperate to improve the numbers immediately.
This publicity stunt shouldn't last more than a month. More than likely, this thing will end as soon as Vince McMahon gets the mainstream media attention that he craves.
Don't expect to see Donald Trump having a weekly on air role as the general manager of Raw. Don't expect to see this culminating in a one-on-one battle between the Donald and Vince McMahon.
The only that's worth looking out for is to see Vince McMahon doing a skit where he fires Donald Trump. Knowing the egos involved, though, it would be quite a surprise to see it happen.
Trump Stunt Causing Heat for WWEWhen Vince McMahon came up with the idea to use Donald Trump it a storyline where he "purchases" Monday Night Raw, he was doing so with the hope that the national media outlets will pick up the story and provide him with free attention that the company needs.
However, the attention that Vince McMahon has received from this entire thing has been mainly negative.
Several media outlets are said to be upset with the incident because they were led to believe that it was real. WWE sent out official press releases stating that Donald Trump had indeed bought the brand. Generally, press releases are not used for storyline purposes, so the media fell for it. Many have removed the story after realizing that they had been fooled.
Apparently, stockholders weren't too pleased with the incident either. WWE stocks actually went down the day after it was announced that Donald Trump had "bought" Raw.
This is still a good idea in the short term because a lot of non-wrestling fans will tune in to see Raw next week to see just what Donald Trump is going to do. However, there might be some damage in the long term with the media. Plus, the non-wrestling fans aren't going to necessarily stick around afterwards.
CM Punk Heel TurnAt Extreme Rules, CM Punk shocked Jeff Hardy (and the wrestling world) when he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase for an immediate shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.
Within minutes of the unscheduled bout, he was able to wrest away the title from Jeff Hardy.
With Jeff Hardy being one of the most popular figures in the entire wrestling universe, it was pretty obvious that message boards were going to be filled with angry wrestling fans because CM Punk had "stolen" the title away from their hero.
Many were quick to call CM Punk a heel even though it wasn't something that was officially established yet.
The heel turn could still happen, though.
Word coming out of the locker rooms is that WWE is still testing the water on a potential heel turn for CM Punk.
Management right now has been adamant about keeping his status a major question mark. They don't want to come out and say whether he's a heel or a babyface just yet.
Not only have the announcers been kept quiet about his status, but the creative has made sure to book him against both heels and babyfaces at the moment.
At the Bash, CM Punk will be defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Hardy.
Management will decide after that match whether or not to go with the full blown heel turn. The reaction from the audience will play a major part in that decision.
Even if the audience jeers the hell out of CM Punk at The Bash, management still needs to carefully think out which direction would be best for him.
The best way to do that would to be to look at the potential programs that he can be involved with.
As a babyface, CM Punk could potentially work with the following wrestlers.
As a heel, he has the following people that he could work with.
- Jeff Hardy (if he stays)
- John Morrison
- Rey Mysterio
- Undertaker
See the dilemma?
Guys like Chris Jericho and Edge are superb mic worker. Their skills could help to really establish CM Punk as a bona fide main event wrestler.
However, the babyfaces on the roster present CM Punk with fresh new matchups to work with. The feud with the Undertaker especially could put him on the map.
Vickie Guerrero's DepartureWhen word spread that Vickie Guerrero was leaving WWE, there were some mixed reactions to the news.
Wrestling fans who were unable to see past her brilliantly played character were rejoiceful over her departure.
Those that were able to separate the character and the performance from the person were saddened by the news. Vickie Guerrero had grown to become the most entertaining general manager in WWE as of late.
The wrestlers were obviously saddened to see Vickie Guerrero leave. However, they understand that with her being a single mother of two teenage girls, she had to make the decision that was best for her family.
Management was also disappointed that she was leaving because they were able to see the tremendous job that she had done to connect with the audience. Keep in mind that she chose to walk away. She wasn't fired.
Of course, that didn't prevent WWE from humiliating her character as she was on the way out the door, though.
It has become somewhat of a tradition in WWE to embarrass employees, especially those that are about to leave the company.
Jim Ross is widely regarded as one of the greatest commentators of all time, and even he is not protected from the ridicule. Even though he doesn't have any plans of leaving the company any time soon, Vince McMahon has humiliated him many times.
Vickie Guerrero's farewell present from WWE included segments where she was called a pig, was booked in a hog pen match, and was berated by Edge during her last appearance with the company.
While it may not seem all that bad to the naked eye, it was something that wasn't even necessary. They could have simply done a skit where she was fired by Vince McMahon. That would have sufficed.
However, there's this little part of Vince McMahon that just absolutely loves to humiliate people. Some speculate that it could be because he wants to "lower someone's stock" just in case they decide to sign with a competing company like TNA.
There are plenty of wrestlers backstage that were very close to Eddie Guerrero at one point. They're still loyal to the man even though he has passed away for a couple of years now.
Reports have surfaced that the wrestlers were quite disgusted with how Vickie Guerrero's departure was handled.
Some of these guys, who know Eddie Guerrero quite well, believe that the former WWE Heavyweight Champion would never have allowed his wife to participate in such a demeaning segment.
They believed that Eddie Guerrero would not have had a problem with the company exploiting his death earlier because that meant that Vickie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero were both still receiving paychecks.
However, treating his wife this way would have crossed the line.
