With the 'Winner Takes All' tagline the Championship Gold was being contested for all night. Chyna was removed from the company months before and as a result the Women's Championship was made inactive. At the Survivor Series event a cross-promotional six-pack challenge was announced. Jazz made her WWE debut, Trish Stratus made her return and former Champions looked to reclaim the gold.

yes she was over and it was a try out on how she would do for the future and she took the ball and ran with it

Yes, she was every guy's dream girl, she was over,she had........some skill. Plus at that time, Lita, Jacqueline & Ivory were all champions, Molly was getting her feet planted in the Division, Jazz was debuting....so Trish was probably the best choice to freshen up the division a bit.

Hell no....I object to that damn blonde getting any more title reigns....tired of her hogging the belt for years and WWE babying her and spoiling her.

I think it was the right person.. Just not the right time. Her wrestling still wasn't great, but she progressed fast. Or it could be that they put in a series of matches with Jacqueline. I think that made her look really bad the first month because Jacqueline can't carry for shit. Things picked up when she started feuding with Jazz. I also think giving Trish the belt gave it more versatility. Trish could have a match with Jazz and turn around and have a bikini contest with Terri or Stacy. You knew Stacy wouldn't get the title, but it give the crowd something fun to watch and often opened some development (Molly attacking after a bikini match, Victoria assaulting after a bra and panties match)

Trish has always shown her willingness to do what the company asked
for. Don't believe me? Well, you do that shit Vince booked her to do
without suing for sexual harassment.

Yup. Right choice. Lita's fans claims that if she hadn't broke her neck, Trish wouldn't been used as much. But really.. There was a good four month period when Lita was no where to be found in the title scene.
