MTV VMAs: Beyonce, Lady Gaga top noms

MTV announced the nominees for the 2009 Video Music Awards today and Lady Gaga and Beyonce lead the pack with nine nods. Following the two divas are: Britney Spears (seven); Kanye West, Eminem, and Coldplay (four each); Green Day (three), and Jay-Z (two).

The awards will be broadcast live from New York City on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9 p.m. The show will be hosted by Russell Brand.

The nominees for Moonmen in the major categories are…

Beyonce “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)”, Lady Gaga “Poker Face”, Eminem “We Made You”, Kanye West “Love Lockdown”, and Britney Spears “Womanizer”.

Best New Artist
Lady Gaga, Drake, Justin Benoliel 3OH!3, Kid Cudi, and Asher Roth.

Best Male Video
Eminem “We Made You”, Kanye West “Love Lockdown”, Jay-Z “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)”, T.I. Featuring Rihanna “Live Your Life”, and Ne-Yo “Miss Independent”.

Best Female Video
Katy Perry “Hot n Cold”, Beyonce “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)”, Kelly Clarkson “My Life Would Suck Without You”, and Lady Gaga “Poker Face”.

Best Hip Hop Video

Ok so where is the R&B Category? Im a big fan of R&B music so seeing girls like Jennifer Hudson/Keri Hilson and Keysha Cole snubbed annoys me

Beyonce and Lady Gaga didn't need all those fucking nominations neither did Britney Spears..

I hope Pink wins Best Female but damn it she's against?

Best Hip Hop Video: Flo-Rida - Right Round
Best Pop Video: Cobra Starship - Good Girls Gone Bad
Best Rock Video: Coldplay - Viva La vida (IMO one of the most addictive songs EVERS)
Best Breakthrough Video: Yeah Yeah Yeah's - Heads Will Roll

I loved "Single Ladies" but what about "Halo" or "If I Were a Boy"? Both were great R&B tracks so i'm a bit bummed to see both songs overlooked.

I couldn't agree more. Ill admit, I like Halo and If I were a boy. But thats it. Most of here songs I dont like one bit.
