Who is the 'Future' of the Women's Division?

With the Diva reshuffle now complete, WWE is pushing ahead with it’s new vision for the women’s division. As mentioned in today’s Maryse article, the Diva Trade is being seen by management as a ‘do-over’. One Diva perhaps with more to gain from the move than any other is Eve Torres.

The Diva was moved to Raw after nearly two years on SmackDown, where she had shown great improvement in the ring since the WWE Draft in April. Eve’s move to Raw is very much a promotion from WWE management, we have been told that WWE considers her the ‘future of the division’. The hope is to have her eventually take over as the top babyface Diva in the company now that both Mickie James and Melina are ‘deep into their tenures’.

The Los Angeles native was expected to be pushed for the Women’s Championship against Michelle McCool before the move to Raw. That has been scrapped in favour of a more long term plan to ensure longevity for the Diva — Eve will be a ‘pet project’ for management going forward.

As well as making great strides in the ring, management believe that Torres has a ‘great disposition’ and is ‘extremely likable’, which they feel comes across on screen. This, of course, bodes well for pushing her as a top babyface in future; higher-ups feel that the audience will catch on with her because of her easily pleasant nature, thus Raw is the best place for her to be because it’s live.
There’s definitely a feeling that Eve will be a long term investment as long as management remain high on her. As we all know, Vince and co. are prone to change their minds at the drop of a hat, but the love for Eve right now is massive.
As revealed earlier today, she may feud with Maryse (another WWE favourite) upon the former Divas Champion’s return.

its not a surprise to me as soon as i saw this thread.
i immediatly assumed you were asking us who we thought was the future.
the first person came to mind was Eve, and HEY WERENT I RIGHT ON THE MONEY.

I'm happy for Eve, the girl has been impressive since the get go. Her in experience shows in her matches, but she doesn't look lost and stupid like most of the girls. The girl is Kelly Kelly with actual wrestling ability.

Why i say so? The girl is being hyped for the Flashy stuff she does, but put that aside, the girl has been solid, bumping, timing, execusion, mic skills and personality. She's doing good and glad to see her get a push. This should be a test run, they shouldn't over push her like they did Candice and Michelle though.

i have a fear that they will be overpushing her tbh.

Eve has certainly been very well advertised compared to a lot of divas

I'm very happy for Eve, I always loved her then started "not caring" for her until she recently won me over all over again. I can't wait to see what WWE has planned for her. PAIR HER WITH KOFI! Please....

why hold a diva back by pairing her with a superstar?

divas in general other then Natayla dont click with superstars.

Steve doesn't have a personality. You could pair him up with John Cena and it wouldn't mean a damn thing if there's no personality or charisma.

I believe she has personality, she showed that when she was with Cryme Tyme. The only person Eve can be with is Kofi to even the odds if Maryse and Miz do pair up.

WWE reckons she has personality, i dont see it too much she has as much personality if less the Layla, one is a generic face that points to the crowd and smiles, the other is a generic heel, who comes to the ring like someone broke her favourite barbie.

difference being Layla actually plays her heel role throughout a match and not just at the begging and end

Steve is bigger and much more manly then Bourne and Swagger is a heel. You might have a point.

No one thinks of Nidia 'cept you. Eve is still relatively unpopular cuz only people who watch and actually give a damn about the divas on SD.

As you can see from my new sig, Eve is someone I really like, and hoping that she gets that chance to shine. Here's part of what I posted on that very site:

Keeping her away from the gold for a bit and building her up for the long haul….I LOVE IT!!!!! I mean, realistically when you look at the roster now, unless she’s VERY lucky, don’t expect Eve to be in the title picture for quite some time. I like this idea better than just “here’s the title”, like others have gotten. We all know what happened to them, don’t we.

While everyone know that Vince loves to change his mind between two drops of rain (old saying at my house), I’m glad that there are those within WWE that see that Eve has SOMETHING that would benefit the company. But when it’s all said and done, Eve Torres is the ONLY person that can make or break Eve Torres.

I’m also perfectly fine with those that don’t see what others are starting to see with Eve. Funny thing, about a decade ago, there were those that thought a certain blonde (now brunette) Canadian native would be all look and no talent and would be nothing more than an afterthought in the wrestling world, and look what happened to her. Just sayin…

It will be interesting to see if Eve really DOES become the new face of the Women's Division.

Eve is very likeable. I like her cute put hot persona unlike chicks who get over with whore characters. Seriously, her character build will give her a fan base outside of males. You can already see that women and kids cheer for her. Plus she can entertain the fans out of the riin and wrestles better than KK and Maria already.

I hate Hornswoggle with a passion but she made that Snoop section watchable. Gail and Kelly looked lost as hell. I can really see her as the next top baby face with mass appeal. Another weird thing is that the Bella's are growing on me big time. I like divas who can wrestle and entertain outside of the ring. I want to see these two fued with each othe though, that would be very intersting.

On the heel side of things, it's Alicia and Maryse the E is behind.

oh in the future. not now though. they coulda carried on. but she hasnt been seen in like 2 or 3 weeks, which is the only reason i reckon they have lost interest

Actually she's probably on a mini break like Kelly Kelly took like 2 weeks back. The divas get more chances for those than their male counterparts. I'm sure she'll be on Raw tonight most likely. Besides if they lost interest they would have traded her when they did all those diva moves.

For heels you forgot Jillian, I heard they are high on her too and Vince loves her act. Hopefully they dont lose interest in her. I like Jillian and she deserves her time to shine. Even if she dont get the title.

Eve is one of my favorite divas. She has improved so much and her finishers are very cool.

I really hope she wins the diva's title next year. I am very glad that the wwe feels so great about her. I thought they would think Kelly Kelly is the future but no it is Eve!

Kelly, Alicia, and Maryse should all be wrestling for a lot longer though.

I mean Kelly is only 22! She has about 8 years til she is 30 and will probably retire if she is serious. That is a long time to grow and win titles.

Alicia Fox is only 23. She's basically in the same boat as Kelly. For sure a future champ if she sticks with this.

Maryse is 26 but she for sure is going to become champion again many times.

The future of the division looks good imo (Eve, Alicia, Maryse, Layla and Kelly) are decent and can only improve over time

There is no single one person who is the future imo. WWE always rotates (forced) the flavor of the week.

they all are improvin some Blue. but Layla aint the future mostly...im just glad she looks so damn young and good. like Lillian did...it means she still has model uses as well as jobbin uses..

and silva you forgot one important diva who could return that is older then Lita, Trish and Molly
