I've decided to cancel the contest from WD since nobody cares.
Miz UnderstoodThere's a big reason why the Miz is being pushed towards the top of the card. He understands the business better than most of the other guys.
Miz UnderstoodWhen Mike Mizanin first got into the wrestling business, a lot of people (including his fellow wrestlers) laughed off any potential success for him because of his reality TV background.
Very few people thought that he would take the wrestling business seriously at all. Most were under the assumption that he was simply using WWE as a vehicle to a bigger spot in Hollywood.
Oddly enough, the path that the Miz took ended up being the catalyst for his rise through WWE.
The Miz is a television star, which is exactly what Vince McMahon is looking for from his wrestlers.
Television Star IndeedWhen wrestling fans talk about workrate and gimmicks, they fail to realize a bigger intangiblle that Vince McMahon is seeking when he brings in new wrestlers.
Vince McMahon wants television stars.
He wants people that he can send out to other television shows. If a wrestler can handle themselves on a public forum, show charisma, and come off looking like a star, then they found themselves a spot in Vince McMahon's heart.
As much as the critics hate John Cena, he's forever earned himself a spot in Vince McMahon's heart. The former WWE Heavyweight Champion is one of the guys that the Chairman loves to send out to television shows and other appearances.
Miz just so happens to be another guy that is capable of handling those duties as well. His natural charisma comes off rather easily, and the people that he works with really do seem to enjoy being around him.
He's No JannettyWhen Miz broke away from John Morrison, wrestling fans believed that he would become the next Marty Jannetty, who was Shawn Michaels' tag team partner before he decided to become a singles wrestler.
People predicted world championships for John Morrison, while they believed that Miz would simply just get lost in the shuffle.
Well, that's not exactly how things turned out.
John Morrison is currently the one that's lost in the shuffle. Miz, on the other hand, has shown signs of being a big star in the future. Management obviously has more faith in him than they do in his former tag team partner.
The big reason why that happens to be the case is because the Miz simply understands the business better than John Morrison does. He knows that you have to be a television star if you want to break into the top tier of the company.
Miz will never be able to put on a wrestling clinic like Ric Flair or Ricky Steamboat could. He can't dazzle the fans with acrobatic moves like Jeff Hardy and John Morrison could.
However, he knows that those aren't necessarily the most important trait to Vince McMahon. Those traits are more important in Ring of Honor than they are in WWE. With Vince McMahon, you're better off knowing how to be a television star.
