No Way Out - Jamie Noble vs Nidia (blindfold match):
ok so Noble is blindfolded as punishment for his treatment of his girlfriend (i liked Nidia's face turn, it was done very well especially when she threw his money into the crowd. Noble went right after Nidia but she got on the ring apron and smacked him. Nidia tripped Noble from the outside and then she gave him a drop kick as he was down on the mat. As Noble was checking around for Nidia, she pulled his pants down and then she gave him a bulldog down to the mat and then a pin for a two count. Noble then grabbed hold of Nidia and she threw him outside of the ring, nearly making him miss the ten count. Noble grabbed hold of the referee, thinking it was Nidia and then got a hold of Nidia and pulled on her hair. Nidia gave Noble a drop toe hold into the ropes and then she went to the top rope and Jamie peeked behind the referee's back and pulled Nidia down from the top rope and then put her in a dragon sleeper making her tap out. he taunted her after the match. funny in places. 5/10

WrestleMania XX - Torrie Wilson & Sable vs Stacy Keibler & Miss Jackie (Playboy evening gown match):
Stacy is wearing pink, Jackie has white, Torrie has gold and Sable is in black. before they get started Sable suggests the girls take their gowns off. Torrie, Sable and Stacy do so but Miss Jackie doesn't so Torrie and Sable strip her (Sable had problems with her boob going into this hence the stipulation change). Cole and Taz's commentary is hilarious (Cole: you just stabbed me with your pencil, Taz: that wasn't my pencil). Sable and Miss Jackie start off with Sable kicking Jackie in the corner. She snapmares her and tags in Torrie who lands a diving crossbody. Stacy tags in and cartwheels into the corner and locks Torrie in a brief body scissors. She chokes Torrie with the legs and Torrie comes back with a sunset flip for two. there's some rolling around on the mat before Miss Jackie tags in and Torrie spears her. this leads to them rolling over the ref which Jackie is not impressed by. she slaps Torrie and rolls her up but Torrie comes through with one of her own to win. she spanks Jackie and she and Sable kiss on the stage. just good horny fun and basic divas match. 5/10

Victoria* vs Molly Holly (Hair vs title match):
it would have been nice to build this up a bit more to get the crowd a bit more interested. King of course ruins a big part of this match by talking about panties the whole time (I know you had to call Brock/Goldberg but don’t take it out on the divas especially when these two have twice the talent of those thugs). Molly starts off on the offensive, pummelling Victoria in the corner before throwing her down with an arm drag. Victoria leaps up and cart-wheels into the advantage and Molly takes cover on the outside before clotheslining the champion. Back in the ring Molly gets a snap suplex, snapmare and running dropkick. She locks in a sleeper hold but Victoria gets out of it and tries a bridging pin which only gets 2. Molly runs into a power-slam from the champion but kicks out. She goes up top and slightly botches a sunset flip power bomb off the top rope. She then goes for Victoria’s Widow’s Peak finisher but Victoria reverses it into a backslide pin for the win. Molly must get her head shaved! JR says “holy haircut, Batman” as Molly flees the ring and tries to shave Victoria’s head but the clippers are switched off. Victoria blindsides Molly with hairspray and straps her into the chair before proceeding to shave Molly’s head completely bald. props to her for going through with it. The match was nothing special but the segment was brilliant so an extra point for that. 6/10

Backlash - Lita vs Victoria* (Women's title match):
Lita won a battle royal to challenge Victoria who strangely had no build up on her side at all. Victoria's entrance is so cute, she stops to let a little boy in the crowd kiss her on the cheek. the match is a bit slow getting started as they lock up for a bit and then Victoria drops Lita with a headlock takeover. Lita locks a headscissors in which Victoria reverses into a bridging pin. Lita attempts to bridge out of it but fluffs the first two tries and gets it on the third go. arm drag from Victoria and the two slap hands before going on. they lock up and fall outside. Victoria gets a backslide but Lita kicks out and this starts a sequence of pin attempts. Victoria gets a body slam and the gyrating moonsault for two. she locks a sleeper hold in and then a surfboard submission before getting a snap suplex. the crowd pops when Victoria locks in a Mexican stretch that would make Nattie proud. Lita reverses the Spider's Web into a headscissor takedown and follows up with a judo flip and scoop slam. snap suplex from Lita and another headscissors before locking in a sleeper hold. she turns it into a rear chinlock but Victoria gets to the ropes. she drops Lita onto them and delivers the Spider's Web. she yells "I can't hear you!" to get the crowd riled up for a moonsault. Lita decides too late whether or not she wants to move so Victoria catches her on the arm. Lita gets a bridging pin and a twist of fate but Victoria kicks out. she goes for the snap DDT but Victoria tries for a backslide and Lita flips her off. Victoria gets a small package to retain. afterwards Molly Holly and Gail Kim attack the two divas while Molly angrily says that the title is hers. extremely sloppy work from Lita and i feel sorry for Victoria having to carry her through this. decent enough though. 6/10

Judgement Day - Torrie Wilson vs Dawn Marie:
Kurt Angle says that Torrie will be fired if she loses but what the hell does Dawn Marie have to do with this feud? why is she even in the match? it seems their PPV matches keep getting worse and worse as someone in the crowd even holds up a sign saying "dud". Torrie backed Dawn to the ropes and Dawn shoved her away. Dawn went for a clothesline but Torrie ducked and took Dawn down with a snapmare. Torrie then hit a dropkick and rolled up Dawn for two. Torrie went for a head scissors in the corner but Dawn blocked it. she went for a cross body off the top, but Dawn moved and Torrie crashed to the canvas. Dawn kicked Torrie around on the mat and slammed her face first to the canvas. Dawn choked Torrie over the middle ropes and then choked her on the apron. Dawn hit a leg drop on the outside and brought Torrie back inside. Dawn went for a cover but Torrie kicked out at two. Dawn locked in a sleeper hold on the mat but Torrie got to her feet and battled out of it and took Dawn down with a clothesline and then hit a neck breaker for two. Torrie went for a sunset flip but ripped Dawn's tights open giving the crowd a full moon. Dawn planted Torrie with a sitout facebuster but Torrie kicked out and rolled her up to keep her job. points for effort? don't think so. 4/10

Jacqueline* vs Chavo Guerrero (Cruiserweight title match):
Chavo has his arm tied behind his back and this is probably the most over Jackie ever was in her career. Chavo kicked Jacqueline in the gut and then went to work on her with a back breaker. He whipped her across the ring but she hit a head scissors that sent him into the steel post. Jacqueline went to work on Chavo and she got on his back with a sleeper hold but Chavo backed her into the corner. Jacqueline then kicked Chavo three times in the midsection and made the cover for a two count. Jacqueline went to work with some forearms and Classic got on the apron and she hit a dropkick to his knee to knock him down. Chavo then took advantage with a clothesline and while the referee was distracted, Jacqueline hit a low blow and rolled Chavo up for two, and Chavo escaped to the outside. Chavo Classic untied Chavo without Jacqueline or the referee knowing and Chavo got back in the ring. Classic kept distracting the referee resulting in Chavo hitting a gory bomb to win his title back. he kicks Jackie on the floor and leaves the ring. oh and this was Jackie's last match in WWE, she was released because creative had no ideas for her. i guess rematch clause slipped their minds. 6/10

Bad Blood - Victoria* vs Lita vs Gail Kim vs Trish Stratus (Women's title match):
why does Victoria enter third? she is the champ so she should enter last, not Lita. it's a little sad to watch this knowing Victoria will never win the title again. Trish ducks out of the ring before the bell rings and Lita chases after her but Tyson Tomko (remember him) fends her off. Victoria takes it to Gail Kim with a clothesline and back body drop following up with a scoop slam. she lands the gyrating moonault but Lita and Trish break the pin. Victoria flops out of the ring and Lita and Trish do an impromptu poetry in motion which Trish is none too happy about. Lita and Trish go at it, Lita ducks a chick kick and gets a bridging pin but Tomko breaks it so the ref sends him away. Lita lands the twist of fate but Gail Kim breaks the pin. Victoria drops Gail with the Spider's Web and Lita takes Trish down with the headscissors. Gail locks in a unique looking half crab but Victoria breaks the hold. Gail locks in the flying dragon which she made Victoria tap out two a couple of weeks ago but Trish breaks the hold and Gail slaps her, locking in a dragon sleeper. Lita reverses a Victoria suplex into one of her own and they both collide. Gail whips Lita in the corner but she moves out of the way resulting in Gail hitting her head off the post. Lita plants her with the DDT but Trish sneaks up behind her and rolls her up to win her record breaking fifth Women's title. it makes you wonder who was supposed to win this since Lita and Trish were only added in at the last minute. 7/10

Great American Bash - Torrie Wilson vs Sable:
can't be sure but i think this is Sable's last PPV appearance. Sable taunts Torrie and ducks out of the ring but Torrie mounts her and Sable throws a few punches before kicking Torrie in the corner. snapmare from Sable and a kick to the back and a neck snap. Torrie gets a sunset flip for two and Sable drops her onto the ropes, choking her repeatedly. she locks in a crisscross chokehold on Torrie who tries to get up but Sable knees her in the midsection. Torrie suplexes Sable and dropkicks her before chopping her at the ropes. both women collide in the middle of the ring and are down for about a count of 8. Sable appears to be out cold so the ref won't let Torrie cover her. turns out Sable is playing possum and rolls Torrie up, grabbing the tights to get the win. ok match. 5/10

Vengeance - Victoria vs Molly Holly (#1 contender's match):
ok this was randomly added at the last minute but still very good and better than their Mania match. Victoria is looking mighty fine tonight but Molly's wig is bad. Molly starts off with a hammerlock which Victoria cartwheels out of. Victoria does the splits to duck a clothesline from Molly and gets a monkey flip and scoop slam. Victoria goes for the moonsault but Molly rolls her up. Victoria leapfrogs Molly and gets a series of arm drags in and lands a moonsault press to get two. Molly ducks out of the ring and Victoria leaps over the top rope onto her. Molly knocks her into the steps to make her nearly miss the ten count. Molly gets an arm lock over the ropes and a handspring elbow. Molly locks an arm wrench in and starts kneeing Victoria's arm. Victoria comes back with a few punches but Molly gives her a belly to back suplex onto the ropes. Molly runs into a powerslam from Victoria. Victoria botches an attempt at the Widow's peak but follows up with a superkick to get the win and earn herself a title match. very good show. 7/10

SummerSlam - Gail Kim, Nidia, Jazz, Molly Holly, Victoria, Stacy Keibler vs Christy Hemme, Maria Kanellis, Joy Giovanni, Tracie Wright, Amy Weber, Michelle McCool (Diva dodgeball):
yep this is what Vince wanted the women's division to become. it's weird to think that apart from Tracie all those girls became divas and who would have guessed that Michelle McCool would be making history five years later and that most of these other divas apart from Victoria and Trish would be gone less than a year later. needless to say the diva search contestants win with only Joy being eliminated. Trish and Victoria get into a bit of a fight. what a waste of TV time. N/A

Unforgiven - Trish Stratus* vs Victoria (Women's title match):
i prefer it with Trish and the face and Victoria as the heel but anyway. Victoria took Trish down with an arm drag and then took her down with a waist lock, and Trish went to the outside to re-group. Trish kicked Victoria in the corner and then choked her. Victoria came back and gave Trish a press slam into a gutbuster. Victoria went up top and Tyson got in the way of Trish, so Victoria wouldn't jump on her. Victoria went outside and sent Trish into the barricade, and then shoved her back inside.Trish came back, sending Victoria face first into the ring post, and Victoria went to the outside. Trish locked in a sleeper on Victoria, but Victoria fought out with rights, knocking Trish down. Victoria then charged at Trish, but Trish scored with a spinebuster. Trish then went back to the sleeper hold after a two count. Victoria again fought out with right hands and then sent Trish to the corner and scored with a shoulder thrust. Victoria picked up Trish and hit a spinning sidewalk slam for two! Victoria picked up Trish and gave her a body slam and then scored with the shake standing moonsault for two. Victoria gave Trish a headbutt and then hit a high cross body over the top to knock Tyson down. He chased her into the ring where she ran into the Stratusfaction which gave Trish the win. Afterwards Stevie Richards in drag came down to make the save. 6/10

No Mercy - Rico, Charlie Haas & Miss Jackie vs Dudley Boyz & Dawn Marie:
no it isn't THAT Jackie Gayda match lol. Jackie is anxious to get a piece of Dawn but Charlie gets attacked from behind by D-Von. Charlie takes control with a hip toss, arm drag and dropkick. D-Von drops him with a back body drop. Dawn tags in and taunts Jackie who tags in and mounts her. she chokes her with her own top but Bubba pulls her down by the hair before tagging in. he mocks her wanting a kiss but she tags Rico who pecks Bubba who is horrified when he opens his eyes, ducking out of the ring and washing it down with water. he tags D-Von in and walks away. Rico gets some offence in with a few martial arts kicks before going up top. Dawn distracts the ref so Bubba can crotch Rico on the turnbuckle. D-Von takes control with a jumping leg drop. Bubba tags in and starts punching Rico tossing him outside where D-Von bashes Rico's head off the ring steps. inside Bubba chokes Rico but he comes back with a DDT. D-Von and Charlie tag in and cleans house, suplexing both Dudleys. Bubba hits D-Von by mistake and Charlie gets a release German suplex. Rico makes a blind tag and body blocks D-Von. Jackie and Dawn enter the fray and spill out of the ring. the Dudleys set Rico up for the Wassup but Charlie knocks D-Von down. Rico grabs Dawn so Jackie can spear her. Charlie lands a diving axe handle on D-Von and Rico lands a moonsault to get the win. 7/10

Taboo Tuesday - Trish Stratus*, Jazz, Gail Kim, Nidia, Stacy Keibler, Victoria, Molly Holly (Fulfil your Fantasy battle royal for the Women's title):
ok choices for the divas' outfits are school girls, nurses and french maids. school girls get the most votes and the match gets underway. Victoria looks particularly fine with pigtails. Nidia is first out after Jazz rips her blouse off. Victoria ducks under Trish and dropkicks Jazz out. Gail Kim tries to hurricanrana Victoria out but eliminates herself instead. Trish and Molly slingshot Victoria out and there go our hopes of a new champion. Molly and Trish double team Stacy and she jumps on the apron to avoid a Molly attack but gets knocked off. Trish sneaks up behind Molly and throws her out to retain the title. as a side note on the SvR 06 game for the Fulfil your fantasy match Trish and Stacy wear their own costumes, Michelle McCool wears Jazz's, Joy Giovanni wears Gail's, Christy wears Nidia's, Lita wears Victoria's and Torrie wears a unique one. oh and the first three divas eliminated were released that same week. 5/10

Christy Hemme vs Carmella DeCesare (?):
choices are evening gown match, aerobics challenge, lingerie pillow fight. yep this is what Vince thought fans wanted to see. the pillow fight is picked and the women spend a good five minutes changing in transparent cubicles. Christy pulls one of Carmella's fake boobs out and taunts her. there is a bit of fighting with the pillows before Christy hits Carmella one good whack and pins her despite her shoulders being down. too bad WWE didn't keep Carmella, she would have made a good wrestler since in real life she went to town on some poor girl in a nightclub. N/A

Survivor Series - Trish Stratus* vs Lita (Women's title match):
in my opinion WWE shouldn't have made a promo for this match since they weren't going to deliver. Trish mocked Lita for being chubby for her pregnancy weight and Lita snapped, attacking Trish and chasing her out of the ring. she dropped her onto a chair at ringside, grabbed another one and hit her earning a DQ. she continued to pound away on Trish who was sporting a bloody nose. good setting up for their match in the main event of Raw. N/A

Armageddon - Miss Jackie vs Dawn Marie:
ok Charlie Haas is the special guest referee. Dawn attacked first and there was the typical rolling around on the mat catfight stuff and even rolled over Charlie. Dawn checked on him and Jackie rolled her up but Dawn rolled through and grabbed the tights for leverage to get the win. afterwards Charlie broke off his engagement to Jackie and then dumped Dawn on the spot and walked off. ok....3/10

PostSubject: Re: divas on PPV each year: 2004   divas on PPV each year: 2004 EmptyFri 23 Apr 2010, 11:53 pm

The first couple of months of 2004 were pretty bad.

WM was a letdown imo. Lita off the card was pretty stupid but I guess they wanted the hair match. The match was boring but the aftermatch was memorable.

Lita v Victoria was pretty dull. Didn't like Victoria's face run that much.

The Bad Blood fatal 4 way was great even if really short. I kinda would have wanted the singles Gail v Victoria match since I wanted Gail to win. Trish winning was not the best since I would have liked Lita to win if not Gail but it lead to a good feud and heel Trish with the belt was great.

The two last big PPv's of 04' were major letdowns. SummerSlam and Survivor Series could have been so much better but they were not.

At least the Lita and Trish feud got the Raw Main Event.

04' was actually not that good when I think about it. Only really liked two matches.

yeah 04 wasn't that great a year on PPV but we still got good matches on TV on Raw. i would have preferred Gail Kim to win the title from Victoria as well since they did practically nothing with Trish when she won it. i would have had Gail Kim win it in the singles match but keep the Trish/Lita feud and maybe have Trish win it at SummerSlam in a fatal 4 way done in the same way as Bad Blood.
i wish they could have had a SS match since the feud could have called for one but they only had six girls left on the roster at the moment
