Friday Night Mayhem, week 1

Subject: Friday Night Mayhem, week 1 Sun 16 May 2010, 7:41 am

The premier episode of Friday Night Mayhem kicks off with the General Manager, Lita, in the ring to address the crowd.

Lita: I know all of you have been anticipating the debut of Friday Night Mayhem and I have as well. You really are all in store for some of the hottest women’s action you have ever seen in your life. But to cut things short and let the action speak for itself, I have selected the competitors for the tournament which will begin tonight, in order to crown the first ever holder of the World Women’s Championship. The brackets are as follows... (Shown on screen)

[Michelle McCool vs Beth Phoenix]
[Gail Kim vs Tara]
[Mickie James vs Savannah]
[Melina vs Natalya]

Before Lita is able to continue speaking, she is rudely interrupted by the music of Michelle McCool, who is followed by Vickie Guerrero and Layla.

Vickie: EXCUSE ME!

The crowd gives tremendous heat towards Vickie, who is barely able to be heard. Lita smirks slightly, cringing her eyes at Vickie’s voice.

Vickie: I said excuse me!

Michelle: Vickie...Vickie, the crowd obviously has no form of respect lodged inside their tiny little brains, so let me handle this. Lita, I understand this is your first day in the job, but if things are going to continue like this, than we are going to have huge problems. In case you didn’t know, I’m the hottest women’s competitor in the industry today, and for that reason, you should just award me the title right here right now. You know you want to...There’s no point me defeating all the women in this tournament to prove that to you.

Lita: I’m sorry...I think your name slipped the tip of my tongue. I know that’s Vickie, but I don’t know who that short girl is next to you, or even who you are. Are you sure you’re a wrestler?

Michelle doesn’t look impressed, with the crowd chanting “who are you” towards Michelle and Layla, with Layla having a fit and looking shocked at these remarks.

Michelle: That’s cute Lita...Real cute. You know damn well who I am. I am Michelle McCool. I am your soon to be champion, so you better start respecting me, or we might just have to find someone more fitting to run this show.

She looks at Vickie with a sly grin.

Lita: I think the crowd speaks for everyone when they chant “you suck!” But, if you really are going to be the champion, then you’ll have to defeat this woman...

Beth Phoenix vs Michelle McCool (with Vickie and Layla)
Michelle quickly escapes outside the ring, not wanting any part of this assault. Beth runs out after her, which leads to Michelle pushing Layla in front of her as a shield. Beth grabs Layla, only to be hit with a powerful boot from Michelle, sending Beth to her knees. The ref reaches a count of two, as Michelle whips Beth into the steel steps. Michelle enters and exits the ring to break the count, to inflict more pain on the injured Beth. Michelle slams Beth’s head into the ring apron, only to be shoved away from Beth. Beth enters the ring only for Michelle to follow and begin working on her leg. Placing it against the ropes, Michelle jumps down on her inner leg, causing Beth to wince in pain. Michelle then delivers solid knees to the inner ankle, before locking on a leg lock.

The crowd begins building momentum for Beth, who manages to kick Michelle in the head multiple times to break the hold. Now back to her feet, Beth limps towards Michelle and hits a hard clothesline, followed by a strong elbow, sending her back to the mat. Beth goes high risk, diving down on Michelle with a clothesline, only reaching a 2 count. Beth runs at the ropes, but her feet are grabbed by Vickie. Beth looks none too pleased, with shock being displayed on the face of Vickie. Beth grabs Vickie by the hair, only to be kicked in the back by Michelle McCool. Beth falls to one knee, allowing Michelle to kick her again and lock in the MAD-T. Beth struggles in pain, trying to reach the ropes with no avail. She looks to tap, but quickly stops herself and manages to use all of her strength to reach the lower rope, with no help from Layla who was trying to pull it away from her, until the ref caught her. Michelle gets to her feet, picking Beth up and delivering an uppercut, flooring Beth. She then whips Beth into the turnbuckle, and runs at her, but Beth moves and hits a back suplex. Beth delivers another hard clothesline, followed by a slingshot suplex onto the ropes but once again only gets a 2 count. Beth begins to experience frustration as she picks Michelle back to her feet. She goes for the Glam Slam, but Michelle reverses, and once again hits Beth with a high kick, this time to the head. Only getting a late two count, Michelle begins showing anger. She yells at Layla to grab a chair, and Layla quickly gets one and slides it into the ring. The ref blocks Michelle, but Michelle pushes him out of the way and charges towards Beth, who hits a drop toe hold, sending Michelle face first into the chair. She gets back to her feet, only to receive a Glam Slam. 1...2...3!
Winner: Beth Phoenix.

After the match Beth celebrates, only to be attacked from behind by Layla. Beth quickly fends her off with a clothesline, sending her and Michelle sprawling out of the ring with Vickie coming to their aid. Out of nowhere, Maryse and Angelina attack Beth from behind! Beth gets back to her feet, only to receive a French TKO from Maryse, followed by a running bicycle kick from Angelina! Beth is floored, as they call Michelle back into the ring. Michelle brings the chair, and places it on the floor with a sadistic grin. She picks Beth up and she and Layla hit double DDT, sending Beth right into the chair! The four pose with Vickie, receiving huge boos from the crowd.

Backstage Segment:
Christy Hemme is backstage, when she is approached and hugged by Maria.

Maria: Hey Christy...It’s so good to see you, I wasn’t sure if I’d run into you this week. I wanted to talk with you about the tag team tournament which begins tonight as well. I didn’t get the chance at the women’s title, so I’d really love to have a shot, and win the tag championships. Would you be interested in teaming with me?

Christy: It’s good to see you to Maria. I’d love to be your partner, and kick ass in that tournament and take home the championships!

Sarita and Taylor Wilde walk into the room, shaking hands with Christy and Maria.

Taylor: Sarita and I overheard you guys talking about entering the tag tournament for a shot at the championships, and we just wanted to wish you guys luck in the tournament. If the two of us cross paths, we hope we all have a fun and competitive match.

Sarita: But with that in mind, just know that we won’t be holding back if we do face you guys. We really want to taste tag gold again. But we really wish you guys luck!

Maria: Thanks Taylor...Thanks Sarita. We understand, we won’t hold back on you guys either. I really look forward to stepping into the ring with you.

Maryse and Angelina come from behind, shoving the two teams.

Maryse: Angelina, did I just hear what I think I heard?

Angelina: I think you did. You guys actually think you have a chance at winning those tag championships? Noone, and I mean no one, will be getting in our way in our path to gold.

Maryse: Maria...Christy...You guys aren’t even in our league. Why don’t you go pretty yourselves up, and let the real wrestlers worry about winning championships and getting in that ring. As a matter of fact...

Maryse pulls out a can of hairspray, and sprays Maria and Christy in the face.

Taylor: What the hell was that for? You bitch!

Taylor and Sarita begin attacking Maryse and Angelina, who begin screaming and fighting back. They both manage to shove Sarita and Taylor into Maria and Christy, before walking off with laughter. Taylor and Sarita check on them, hoping they are alright.

Tag Contender ship Match: Saritaylor vs Un Americanz.
The match begins with Taylor and Angelina in the ring. They lock up, with Taylor getting the quick advantage, transitioning into a snap mare, sending Angelina to the mat. Angelina reverses into a headlock, before slamming Taylor by the hair into the mat, then begins smirking and taunting the crowd. She brings Taylor over to Maryse and tags her in, with the two hitting a double boot to the face. 1...2..kick out! Maryse locks on a camel clutch, and begins pushing Taylor’s head into the mat. Taylor manages to get to a standing position, and hits a back slam, squashing Maryse into the mat. Maryse reaches and gets the tag from Angelina, with Sarita also getting the tag as well. Sarita dodges a kick from Angelina, and hits a flying takedown, followed by consecutive dropkicks to the gut of Angelina. Sarita goes high risk, hitting a diving crossbody for only a 2 count. She tags Taylor in, who gets in German Suplex position looking for the double team, but as Sarita runs at the ropes, Maryse throws her off, and hits a DDT, sending Sarita to the outside. The ref goes to check on her, as Taylor hits a dropkick on Maryse. Angelina then grabs a hairspray from under the ring and sprays it in the eyes of Taylor, getting the pinfall!
Winners: Un Americanz.

A video package of Serena is shown, stating that she is coming to Friday Night Mayhem next week.

Eve vs Alicia Fox
The match begins with a lockup between the two, with Alicia getting the early advantage with a headlock. Eve quickly reverses into a roll up, but only gets a one count. She gets back to her feet, only to be kicked in the gut by Alicia. Alicia then hits a suplex, only getting a 2 count. She argues with the ref, but quickly locks a headlock onto Eve. The crowd begins cheering for Eve, building her enough momentum to escape the hold, and hit an elbow on Alicia, followed by a clothesline. She then hits multiple dropkicks, following it up with a side slam. She then runs at the ropes and hits a senton attack, only reaching a late 2 count. Eve picks Alicia up and goes to whip her into the ropes, but Alicia reverses into a spinning kick. 1...2..kick out! Alicia begins to show even more frustration. She runs at the ropes, going for the scissors kick, but Eve moves, and hits a neck breaker. She positions Alicia closer to the ropes, and hits the diving moonsault, capturing the victory!
Winner: Eve Torres.

After the match, the interviewer comes into the ring to get a few words from the victor, Eve.

Interviewer: You’ve had a great start to Friday Night Mayhem picking up a win tonight. How does it feel?

Eve: It feels great...And I hope there are many more to come here on Friday Night Mayhem. I’m looking forward to showcasing everything I have, and showing the fans I have the heart and desire to succeed here. I won’t let my fans down!

Interviewer: Any final words?

Eve: Just that even though I’m not in the women’s title tournament, that I will be one to watch out for. I will become the Women’s champion when the opportunity arises.

The fans cheer on Eve, as she makes her way to the back.

Backstage Segment:
Michelle and Layla walk up behind Eve with a smirk, mocking her.

Layla: Aww...That was such a great speech Eve!

Michelle: Aww, it was, wasn’t it Lay? It’s quite funny that she goes to sleep at night thinking she’ll actually be a champion. Come on Eve...It won’t be happening.

Eve: What is your problem? Do you always have to insult everyone for no particular reason? From where I’m standing, you won’t be a champion either Michelle, as you got your ass kicked by Beth earlier tonight. You couldn’t even win with brat face on your butt, either. That says a wonder for you doesn’t it?

Layla: Heyy! I’m not a brat face! How dare you! Michelle, get her!

Eve looks at Michelle, then at Layla and slaps her hard in the face, before walking off as Michelle tends to Layla.

Lita announces that next week, Eve will take on Michelle McCool.

Tara vs Gail Kim
The match begins with a stare down between the two superstars. Tara approaches Gail and puts her hand out for her to shake. After some hesitation Gail shakes her hand, only to be the victim of a brutal clothesline from Tara! Tara smirks to the crowd’s dismay, and grabs Gail by the hair and pulls her onto her back in submission style. After a few moments, Tara lets her hair go, sending Gail face first into the mat. She then delivers multiple kicks to the body of Gail, taunting her extensively. Gail manages to mount a comeback, punching Tara in the gut, but it is slowed down by a knee to her skull. Tara whips Gail into the ropes, but Gail reverses with a hurracarana, which is caught by Tara and turned into an alley-loop slam. 1...2..kick out! Victoria argues with the ref, but applies a headlock to Gail.

The fans show their support for Gail, allowing her the momentum to escape the hold, and deliver a clothesline to Tara. She follows it up with another hurracarana, this time successful, which sends Tara to the mat. Gail then grabs the arm of Tara and runs up the turnbuckle and onto the ropes, before jumping off and hitting an arm drag onto Tara. She then hits her signature neckbreaker, though only getting a late 2 count. She goes for Eat Defeat, but Tara throws her foot to the ground and delivers a kick to the face of Gail! She then picks her up and goes for the Spiders Web, but Gail reverses into her Christo submission! Tara falls to the mat in pain, trying her hardest to reach the ropes. She manages to get to a standing position again, and slams Gail into the mat! 1...2..kick out! Tara and Gail both get to their feet simultaneously, and begin exchanging blows, with Gail soon getting the upper hand. She goes high risk, and hits a diving dropkick, which sends Tara out of the ring. Gail then runs at the ropes, diving through them and charging at Tara, however Tara moves, throwing Gail into the announce table! Tara stumbles, before picking Gail up and sliding her back into the ring. She then picks Gail up for the Widows Peak and pins her for the 3 count!
Winner: Tara.

Tara celebrates her huge Tara, with boos received from the crowd. She looks down at Gail in disgust, and picks her up and throws her out of the ring. She soon follows, and whips Gail into the steel steps! Gail is unable to get up, as Tara looks on. But Tara isn’t finished, as she goes under the ring and grabs a steel chair. She then goes back to where Gail was, but out of the crowd an unknown Asian woman appears, jumping off the barricade and onto Tara with a clothesline! She begins punching into Tara, before she is pushed off. She dodges a boot from Tara, and throws her over the barricade. Officials come and prevent her from doing any further damage. The Asian woman then goes over to tend to the confused and injured Gail Kim. Tara backs up through the crowd, stating that it isn’t over, as the show goes off air.

SUCKS that Lita is the GM, I really want a match between she and Michelle at some point. That promo was really good and it got me pumped for the show.

Michelle vs. Beth was really long, I wish their match at Extreme Rules was this long, this told a story and I actually visualized everything that was happening, that was a great opening match. Angelina and Maryse attacking Beth was unexpected, I wonder what’s to come after that. Really good stuff..

The match was underwhelming to be honest, I loved the backstage action and just expected a straight up brawl or something.. I hope this is not over though lol

Nice main event, Tara and Gail Kim about killed each other (moreso Tara <3) She was absolutely brutal, she truly shines as a psycho, loved the creative ending (Gail Kim hitting the announce table). It’s not really creative but for the divas? Hell yes it is!

I wonder who this other asian is, Angela Fong? Lena Yada? Really intrigued here.

This was a great debut and keeps me wanting more, I loved this.

The Asian was Savannah, I just wanted it to be one of those things where the commentators don't know who she is or act like they don't, but the viewers do.

I'm really trying hard to develop each diva's character every week. For example this week, I focused on LayCool and Eve the most, with a few other backstage skits for some development. The same will be happening each week, so that no diva is ignored.
