Today’s History Lesson—September 17th
By: Bill Fenbers

9/17/1966—Bette Boucher defeats The Fabulous Moolah, to win the NWA World Women’s Championship. Moolah was one more day away, from holding the title for exactly ten years. WWE does not recognize this title change, or any change in the Women’s title, between 1956 and 1983. Moolah is recognized as the only champion in this 27-year period.

9/17/1986—WWF “Tuesday Night Titans” airs for the last time, on USA Network.

9/17/1993—Tony Stetson and Johnny Hotbody defeat Eddie Gilbert and The Dark Patriot, to win the ECW World Tag Team Championshp.

9/17/2000—highlights from 2000 WCW “Fall Brawl”
-Elix Skipper defeats Kwee Wee, to retain the Cruiserweight Championship.
-Lance Storm defeats General Rection, to retain the United States Championship (Jim Duggan was Special Guest Enforcer).
-Booker T defeats Kevin Nash, to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship (Steel Cage match).

9/17/2001—on the first “Raw” since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, The Dudley Boyz defeat Undertaker / Kane, to win the WWF Tag Team Championship. Undertaker and Kane still had the WCW Tag Team Championship, as they were not on the line in this match.

9/17/2006—highlights from 2006 WWE “Unforgiven.”
-Johnny Nitro defeats Jeff Hardy, to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
-Trish Stratus defeats Lita, to win the Women’s Championship.
-Triple H / Shawn Michaels defeat Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon

Unforgiven 2006 is one of my all time favorite PPVs and for sure my # 1 that isn't one of the 'big 4.'

All of the matches imo were great with Trish/Lita and Edge/Cena being amazing!

And the SD after 9/11 was so sad.

I need to buy that somewhere though..
