- Today’s History Lesson—September 21st
By: Bill Fenbers
9/21/1996—WWF “Livewire” debuts on USA Network.
9/21/1998—Jacqueline defeats Sable, to become the new WWF Women’s Champion. There had not been a Women’s Champion in almost three years, as previous champion Alundra Blayze had left the company, and had taken the Women’s Title belt with her, to WCW (and threw it in a trash can, on Monday Nitro).
Also, X-Pac defeats D’Lo Brown, to win the WWF European Championship.
9/21/2002—at Ring of Honor “Unscripted,” Xavier defeats Low Ki, to win the ROH World Championship. Also, Christopher Daniels and Donovan Morgan defeat Bryan Danielson and Michael Modest, to win the ROH Tag Team Championship.
9/21/2003—highlights from WWE “Unforgiven” -The Dudley Boyz defeat Rob Conway and La Resistance, to win the World Tag Team Championship (Handicap Tables match). -Christian defeats Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam, to retain the Intercontinental Championship (triple threat match). -Goldberg defeats Triple H, to win the World Heavyweight Championship. If Goldberg had lost, he would’ve had to retire from pro wrestling.
9/21/2006—Vince Russo is hired as a creative writer, for TNA Wrestling.
