I am not convinced that the poll was not rigged. I don't think Kelly deserves the belt, but whatever.

I know, which sucks. I think WWE manipulated the voting, they knew Kelly would win if they put her up against Eve and Beth since Kelly is more popular but they are really stupid for putting that belt on her. Kelly = looks. Doesn't bother me, though. It seems like every woman gets to hold the title at some point (except Velvet, it would seem... probably my luck messing her up).

I guess if Cena can be champ then she can too, though I don't understand how something like this can happen and hell doesn't freeze over. Maybe this starts the apocalypse that ends the world in 2012.

At the end of the day I think it was a sensible decision by the WWE. Kharma getting pregnant really screwed up their plans so the best way to revive the division is to put the belt on their most popular diva. It's pretty much a given that Beth will turn heel and feud with her. Beth can carry Kelly to some good matches and when she wins the belt , there's lot of face opponents she hasn't worked with like Eve and AJ.

So we've reverted back to the Sable days?

I liked the Bellas being champion. They were over.

They only reason they were over was calling the most over in WWE fat. The following week, they were deadbeats agaibn.

why are you comparing Kelly to Sable? Kelly is at least trained to wrestle. she isn't a five star worker but she can work a good enough match and has now put a lot of variety into her moves. remember the start of last year when she only used headscissors, hurricanrana, handspring elbow and her finisher in every match? she's become a lot better since then and more importantly she is over.

Sable on the other hand had it written into her contract that she couldn't take bumps. so they had to create catfight type of matches to protect her and undermine the division. people complain that WWE only care about eye candy but by they have been putting the belts on people who have actual wrestling ability. the last bad wrestler they put the belt on was Maryse and they quickly fixed that by taking it off her in less than a month

The biggest difference between now and the classic 2000-2006 era is the audience. Now, it's primarily kids watching. It used to be a much more savvy audience.

Back then, the fans could enjoy Stacy Keibler working a few matches, but would have rebelled if she'd ever been given the Championship. We saw this in early 2005 when the crowds didn't do what Vince expected them to, and started backing megaheel Trish Stratus in her feud with Christy Hemme. By the end, they felt just plain insulted that they were being asked to buy the very green Christy as a legit threat to Trish's Championship. They just wanted Trish to squash Christy.

But then, how much of the current audience was even born when Trish and Lita entered the WWF in 2000? Here's the current audience reacting to the end of Wrestlemania...

Actually Stacey was offered the championship and declined. She had no intentions on being a serious wrestler and it wasn't her passion to be a full time wrestler.

I wouldn't have mind Stacey tbh. I've enjoyed all of her non T&A matches. Especially her last few, very impressive imo.

Honestly if we can have the likes of Miss Kittie, Debra, Candice, Kelly, Maryse and Bellas as champs, Stacey would've been a fine champ. She was extremely over, probably more over than ever Torrie during 2004 on Raw. She was basically the top face on Raw at one time, and was able to put on decent matches which top the ones of today.

Saying Stacy was in better matches than the ones we see today is damning with faint praise, don't you think?

Kittie and Debra weren't Champions during the 2001-06 era that was Stacy's time. Stacy knew enough to look decent when she had the wrestlers working with her and doing most of the work. She wouldn't have been able to carry Torrie or Dawn Marie through a good match. With Stacy, they used her main thing, which was those long legs of hers. It was all kicks and doing that Kevin Nash press someone in the turnbuckle with your leg thing.

But, it's the 2001-06 era that some of us are using as the standard when discussing the merits of the current state of WWE women wrestling.

But she did come off looking better than many of the girls today and she HAD a right roster to work with. WWE wouldn't be stupid to throw the gold on Stacy with a bunch of people on the roster who CAN'T make her look good. It's why Trish won it in the first place it's why Sable won it. WWE wasn't ONLY confident in Trish/Sable/Stacey...but they had A LOT of faith in the women who worked with them and help them come off better in the ring.

Today...this is NOT the case.

it seems you are knocking down Dawn and Torrie (maybe i'm wrong, sorry if I am) but Torrie and Dawn along with Nidia, Shaniqua, Hiroko, Miss Jackie was what i would could a pretty solid group of girls on SD for a while. They were fun, diverse, had character and made for some solid matches. Yes their T&A matches were a bit bitter in the end. BUT they had some really good (not great, ground breaking or overly memorable) matches. Enjoyable matches I might add. Especially any combo of Torrie-Dawn-Nidia. They were on great display on Velocity as well. Plus they were actually WORTH watching compared to todays matches.

I'd take a Torrie-Dawn match ANY day, they've wrestled each other SOOO many times...it never got boring tbh. BUT today..if i see another Bella-Kelly match..i will burn my eyes out.

Nidia, Jackie Gayda, and Linda Miles came in from Tough Enough rather than Diva Search, so they had the training going in, but were very green. They got pushed before they were seasoned. Trish, by contrast, was trained for nearly two years while developing her mic skills before she was pushed as a serious in ring competitor. Same with Victoria as far as the training was concerned.

This is where it hurts not having Molly around, as she and Fit Finley were the ones doing the main training of the girls. She improved Lita's skills, as well. Notice Trish, Lita, and Victoria all worked a similar style, though each had their own distinct thing. Lita had her high spots, Trish her flexibility, and Victoria her power moves, each having their unique specialty based on their strengths. The basics, though, were Molly's style. And, how good a teacher was Molly? Reportedly, Molly got fed up with Chyna's treatment of the other Divas and her refusal to sell, and confronted her about it. Chyna was insulting and dismissive, with her usual claims to be so far above the rest of them as a wrestler. So, Molly quickly beat her up. Don't know how true that often told story is, but Chyna did suddenly start selling Lita's offense during their feud, right before leaving the company.

Meanwhile, Gail, Mickie, Beth, Melina, and Michelle worked their way up the territories and OVW for years before being called up to the main roster. So, they were seasoned vets coming in. In other words, there were plenty to build a strong division around after Trish and Lita left.

So, the question is why the girls who had the rings skills didn't get over, at least on the level that Trish and Lita did. Is it the writers, entirely, or did Trish and Lita have something that none of the current crop have that got them especially over with the fans?

Yeah that is true WWE had an amazing SOLID group of girls, girls who went to TNA and became stars.

Angel Williams, Shantelle Taylor, Tracy Taylor, Desire, Nikita Fink who all spent time in OVW/DSW with Beth, Cherry, Jillian, Mickie, Trinity, Natalia, Katie Lea, Krissy Vaine...that was basically the batch of women who were supposed to take over but they dropped them for Models and then what?

TBF Alicia did pay her due's while Kelly was stripping on ECW 3 weeks after being signed. Alicia was learning from ODB, Katie Lea, Serena, Beth, Natalya before being called up and honestly (people will disagree) but it shows in her work. Maryse spent about the same time.

Rosa....is just in a world of her own.

The Biggest issue in DSW now is....these girls have NO ONE to learn from. Look at Brooke Adams, she spent almost a year training with the likes of Angel Williams, Shantelle Taylor, Krissy Vain who had about a year or two training in DSW DSW did WONDERS for Shantelle Taylor. She was a rookie who needed guiding and wathcing her, Angel, Krissy, Natalya, Tracy, Kristal Marshall and Michelle McCool work, pretty much proves DSW was WWE's best training facility. I don't think Beth or Katie or Mickie or Jillian learned as much in OVW and they did in FCW it just shows in their work. I saw one Shantelle coming in and saw a star leave that place. While Beth a rookie needing crafting...didn't get molded as well IMO. When it comes to wrestling that is. She learned how to wrestle, just not how to wrestle to her advantages.

I gotta say...whoever you are lol. I love discussing wrestling with ya, even ithough i don't see eye to eye with you on some stuff......I can see where you are coming from and you bring up a good argument.
