TNA Impact Wrestling on Thursday, June 16 officially scored a 1.25 rating off a first hour 1.21 rating and second hour 1.30 rating.
Impact's average rating was boosted by a 1.46 rating in the fifth quarter-hour to begin the second hour.
Impact opened with a 1.16 rating in Q1, which was the lowest quarter-hour of the show. Impact closed with a 1.29 rating in Q8. In-between, the show scored between a 1.18 and 1.26 rating, excluding Q5.
First Hour Break Down
Q1: Impact opened with a show-low 1.16 rating for Mr. Anderson's TNA Title celebration and Gunner's interruption. Impact continued a pattern of weak starts after Q1 was typically the highest-rated quarter-hour during the first-half of 2011. (down 5.4% vs. 2011 average)
Q2: Impact increased to a 1.23 rating for Hernandez vs. Devon, backstage segments involving key players, the first-half of Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett's confrontation, and one full commercial. (up 4.2% vs. 2011 average)
Q3: Impact declined to a 1.18 rating for the second-half of Angle-Jarrett, a video package on the Bound for Glory Series, Eric Young backstage, and two full commercial breaks. (down 1.3% vs. 2011 average)
Q4: Impact rebounded to a 1.26 rating in their usual dead quarter-hour. It was the highest-rated quarter-hour of the first hour for a segment featuring Kid Kash vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Austin Aries and one full commercial. Also, the Q4 rating was the second-highest of the year. (up 10.1% vs. 2011 average)
Second Hour Break Down
Q5: Impact then launched to a show-high 1.46 rating. It was the third-highest-rated quarter-hour of the year. Following the X Division match, Q5 featured the Knockouts Tag Title match, a post-match brawl, and the much-talked-about backstage Sting-Hogan confrontation. This was followed by one commercial. (up 16.0% vs. 2011 average)
Q6: After the Hogan-Sting segment, Impact dropped to a 1.21 rating for the lowest quarter-hour-rating of the second hour. Q6 featured non-wrestling segments featuring the announcers, video packages, ring introductions for Samoa Joe vs. RVD, and one commercial break. (up 1.2% vs. 2011 average)
Q7: Impact increased slightly to a 1.23 rating for the Joe vs. RVD match, Gunner getting stitched backstage, one commercial break, and the first-half of Anderson vs. Gunner in the main event. (up 5.0% vs. 2011 average)
Q8: Impact increased to a 1.29 rating for the end of Anderson-Gunner and the backstage parking lot fight between Angle and Jarrett.
Due to TNA's historical struggles to retain audience at the end of the show, the Q8 rating was in the Top 5 eighth quarter-hour ratings of the year. (up 5.9% vs. 2011 average)
