Goldust Reacts To Recent Report on Planned Cody Match

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that despite Goldust lobbying on the internet for a match against his brother Cody at WrestleMania 28, WWE is leaning more towards booking that match for the Elimination Chamber PPV next month.

After the release of the report, Goldust posted the following on Twitter:

"No i do not want my match with cody at the chamber...period.....i want it on the big stage."

You describe Goldust as a fucker, but he has been a reliable star in wrestling since his early days in WCW. He's basically admitted that he wants to retire, but wants his brother to be the one to retire him. It's a way to firmly establish Cody as the greatest star of the Rhodes family. Cody took his father out back when he was part of Legacy, but he hasn't really had a chance to when it comes to Cody.

I say give them the match at Wrestlemania, out of respect for Goldust's career. Allow him to retire in what will arguably be a passing of the torch scenario.

Cody is better than Goldust NOW...and why? Because he is 16 years Goldusts' junior...so he is bound to be better.

And I do think that Rhodes should retire Goldust...and I think Rhodes should help Goldusts campaign..

Then again saying that, if Goldust is gonna be so blatant with his upset, he may not get his wish at all..better Elimination Chamber than not at all tbh

I agree LL, whilst I think it is appropriate for the match to happen at WM, if EC is all he's going to be given, I'd take it if I were him.

Honestly if Cole vs Jerry can waste a spot on WM, this match would be a welcomed addition.

Goldust 13 years ago, yes, because he was relevant...But now? No.

I really do think Goldie has still got one more great match in him. The last decade he has been in WWE he has yoyo'ed from being in great shape to being in bad shape...and last time I saw him, he was in decent shape for his age, so I think he is ready to go.
