| Subject: January 30th Post Royal Rumble Raw Ratings Breakdown In! Taker/HHH Segment Gains 750k+ Viewers! Tue 31 Jan 2012, 11:45 pm | |

WWE Raw on Monday, January 30 the night after the Royal Rumble PPV scored a 3.55 rating, up 12 percent compared to a 3.18 rating last week leading to the Rumble.
It was the highest Raw rating since the night after WrestleMania 27 on April 4 last year, which scored a 3.82 rating.
-- Raw averaged 5.22 million viewers, up 13 percent compared to last week's Rumble lead-in show. It was the first time Raw cracked five million viewers since October 10 and the most overall viewers since May 23, 2011 for the first Raw after Randy Savage's death. Beyond May 23, it was the most viewers since Edge's retirement announcement on the April 11, 2011 Raw.
Raw's first hour averaged 5.32 million viewers, the most since October 10. Raw then slipped to an average of 5.12 million viewers in the second hour. It was still good for the most second hour viewers since July 25, 2011. Raw's second hour declined for the fifth straight week and 14th week out of the last 15.
-- On cable TV Monday night, Raw trailed History Channel's episodes, which continues to affect Raw's second hour viewership going head-to-head. Raw was #1 among males 18-34 and males 12-34, but trailed "Pawn Stars" in males 18-49. Raw did score its best m18-49 rating since last April, though.
WWE's teen male rating was actually down two-tenths of a rating compared to last week. Raw was also down nearly two full ratings points compared to the same week last year.
Among female viewers, Raw was up 10 percent in w18-34 and 15 percent in w18-49 compared to the usual range, which also contributed to a strong ratings performance.
-- Last year's post-Rumble episode of Raw scored a 3.48 rating with a six percent increase compared to the previous week. The episode averaged 5.28 million viewers, up seven percent compared to the previous week, with viewership increasing in the second hour.
Caldwell's Analysis: Long-time, older adult viewers know something hot is going to happen the night after the Royal Rumble starting the Road to WrestleMania, so it looks like casual, every-few-weeks viewers swarmed back to Raw for the Rumble fall-out. WWE still can't reach teen viewers consistently, though, which remains a concern for the long-term health of the show.
