Should more wrestling games other than WWE be made?

There has been plenty of wrestling games that werent WWE/TNA, but a good
majority of them have been only in Japan. Games such as KOC, Wrestle
Kingdom, Virtual Pro Wrestling have had to be imported just to be played
in the US. There's the AAA game, but it feels way too much like the TNA
game, not to mention there is no ROH or CHIKARA or any game based on
another wrestling company for that matter. Your thoughts? Should retro
wrestling games based on WCW, ECW be made kinda like how the Legends of
Wrestlemania game was done?

The problem is, is there a market for alternative wrestling games? I don't know how well the WWE series is doing in terms of profit, but they're obviously the most recognizable brand of sports entertainment. If they're doing bad, what hope does that give much lesser recognized brands like ROH or CHIKARA?

A big problem with independent wrestling organizations is how volatile the environment is. At any point someone from the indies might get picked up by WWE, retire, or somehow stop working for the organization.

TNA probably has the best chance, since they are in my opinion the 2nd biggest organization in the world. However, their last game did not do well in terms of finances, and probably was the nail in Midway's coffin. So what video game company is willing to work with that?

In terms of game engines, it boggles my mind that no one uses the AKI engine after No Mercy was so critically acclaimed. The engine was one of the keys to success for the Def Jam fighting/wrestling game series.

So yes, other wrestling games should be made. I personally love the arcade style wrestling games like Saturday Night Slam Masters and WrestleFest, but in all likelihood, a quality wrestling game is unlikely. I would love to be wrong though.

A game covering the Alliance and Invasion storyline would be fairly cool.

I mean, there would be a huge pool of wrestlers from WWE, WCW and ECW for starters. There could be alternative endings to the storyline like WCW/ECW winning rather than WWE, ECW or WCW siding with WWE etc.

Whilst still technically a WWE game, it would be interesting to see in my opinion.

The only drawback I can see is getting the licenses to use all or most of the wrestlers from the storyline. For starters, if it wasn't WWE funded it would be near impossible to make anyways, as I doubt Vince McMahon would allow most of his superstar's licenses to be used. Plus, as some of the wrestlers from the storyline have since died (like Test for example) some of the voiceovers wouldn't be accurate. But if it could be done, I'd play it.
