Women's Wrestling News Dallys-Zeuxis-Ray-Tomoka-Nakagawa-Mima-Shimoda-Goya-Kong-L-R

One of the newer, but yet very popular, Japanese women's wrestling promotions, REINA has announced that it will be immediately dissolved. What was promoted as the first anniversary of REINA ended up with a sudden change to be the last. This show was held last night. For those unfamiliar with REINA, this is the promotion that Mia Yim has made her home-away-from-home. Other international talent to work for REINA has included Kelly Skater (Australia), Courtney Rush, Portia Perez, Nicole Matthews (Canada), Sara Del Rey, Roxie Cotton, Simply Luscious, Luscious Latasha, and Kimber Lee (USA). Kimber Lee actually made her debut for REINA on the final show.

One thing making REINA unique was the agreement with Mexican promotion CMLL allowing wrestling from both promotions to regularly appear at the other's shows. Mimi Shimoda and Ayumi Kurihara have spent A LOT of time in CMLL, with Kurihara winning the CMLL title. Additionally, Zeuxis and La Commandante working in Japan for extended run.

Women's Wrestling News Wrestlicious+wrestlers

It has been reported that Wrestlicious is officially in production for the second season of the company's TV show, TakeDown. It was also announced that a former GLOW girl, Hollywood, will be heavily involved. Wrestlicious is often considered a joke promotion due to the large amount of comedy skits and raps the wrestlers perform. While these parts of the show are obvious throwbacks to GLOW, one of the big differences between Wrestlicious and GLOW is the number of professional wrestlers that have been involved with Wrestlicious. Season 1 saw wrestlers like Danyah, Jennifer Blake, Hannah & Holly Blossom, Amber O'Neal, Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews, Josie, Leva Bates, Madison Rayne, Daffney, Mercedes Martinez, and Serena Deeb. Most of the wrestling matches held by Wrestlicious contained at least 1 professional wrestling and were pretty good matches given the focus on comedy.

It has been announced that "Portugal's Perfect Athlete" Shanna has undergone a major surgery to repair her torn ACL. The injury happened in January 2011 while Shanna was working a show in Germany. While she hasn't worked her normal schedule the past year, she worked a large number of matches with the injury. Being in such good condition, her recovery is expected to be quick. The surgery happened on Monday, she is expected to be able to be running and working out in the gym by next month. Shanna recently competed alongside Nikki Storm, as "The Perfect Storm" in a losing effort to The Blossom Twins in the first round of the Pro Wrestling: EVE Tag Team Title Tournament.

Women's Wrestling News Wsu

Women's Superstars Uncensored held the annual J-Cup tournament in April with Brittney Savage winning the Tournament for the second year in a row. Other contestants in the tournament were Annie Social, Ezavel Seuna, Lexxus, Alicia, Nikki Syx, Kimber Lee and Athena. Other matches in the evening had Tina San Antonio taking on Marti Belle and 2 matches between Mercedes Martinez and Jessika Havok. Lexxus made the announcement that she would be winning the upcoming Uncensored Rumble for the second year in a row and Rain announced that if she didn't win the Rumble, she would be leaving WSU forever.

WSU has been receiving a lot of criticism as of late with the amount of repetition that we have been seeing. With Savage winning the J-Cup two years in a row (but not making any big moves since her win), the possibility of Lexxus winning the Rumble two years in a row, the too drawn out feud between Tina San Antonio and Marti Belle, and finally Martinez becoming the first two time WSU Champion, many fans have expressed concern. Promoter Sean McCaffrey came out in defense of WSU saying that things are happening for a reason and storylines are being advanced.

Also in WSU news, the "Boy-Diva" Rick Cataldo and WSU has finally parted ways.

i think Shanna's worked a few shows in Ireland. my trainers seem to know her pretty well

annoying about WSU but they really don't have the talent pool that Shimmer have. i guess waiting until storylines play out is necessary before we start criticising

i think Wrestleicious is like the Batman and Robin of professional wrestling. it makes NXT season 3 look like old school ECW

Shanna is really talented. It is a shame that there are not too many of her matches on youtube.

WSU doesn't have the talent that Shimmer has, or even Pro Wrestling: EVE. I think it would belp WSU out so much if they would bring in a few more talented girls and let go of a few not talented ones they do have.

i think they should use some of the Shimmer girls. i mean Mercedes Martinez works for both promotions so it should be okay right? from what i've seen from WSU there's a lot of girls that aren't really ready to be competing on proper shows. they're at dark match level but it seems like they're there just to fill spaces
