| Randy Orton's future with WWE is uncertain following their announcement Wednesday that he was being suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the Talent Wellness Program. SuperLuchas.net reports the SmackDown wrestler met with Chairman Vince McMahon, Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events Paul Levesque and Executive Vice President of Television Production Kevin Dunn at the organization's headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut on Friday to discuss his future with the organization.
A WWE source described the meeting's atmosphere as "hostile;" it was determined that a further decision concerning Orton awaits. The report adds there are "several" officials lobbying for his termination as a cost-cutting measure. They feel his lucrative ten-year contract—signed in January 2010—can no longer be justified if he is brought back in a mid-level role. His second suspension hinders WWE from continuing to feature Orton in headline role since a third drug-testing policy infraction would result in automatic termination.
McMahon is especially infuriated with Orton, who felt he had matured in recent years. The nine-time world champion's suspension reportedly stems from a positive drug test for the anabolic steroid Dianabol, which is banned by the United States Congress under its Controlled Substances Act. He also reportedly tested positive for marijuana, which is subject to a $2,500 fine.

Wise for who? He's a main star and very popular. SD ratings would definitely go down even more.

In the immediate future, there won't be anyone who can draw like him, but with this youth movement, they'll be ok. I mean, who would have ever guessed that a guy like Daniel Bryan would have become as big as he's become in WWE where hulked-up superman types are the norm? I think Orton desperately needs a gimmick tweak. He went from being on my top-3 faves to someone I don't care to see on my TV.

I mean he is slowly gonna go the jeff hardy route. It's a bad way to reward a comapny for showing faith in him to do this stuff. Especially for a guy who is suppose to be a superstar and set a example in the back. The Undertaker is respected in the back been a superstar and has always done it the right way when the company puts faith in him.

| He's nowhere close to going down the Jeff route. Jeff was all about the drugs, you'd always hear stories about him. You don't hear many about Randy. The last time he was suspended was 2006, which was 6 years ago so he's shaped up, matured, and grew up for his family. Should he have done this? No. But then again, he hasn't even spoke up about it, all you're seeing is the crap on sites. Everyone makes mistakes, no one will ever be perfect and he shouldn't be released for this.
Also, no one knows how true this story really is. Yeah, I'm sure he had a meeting with them but sites like these blow so much crap out of proportion to get people talking. I'm not saying this didn't happen, but I'm saying to not completely believe it either.

| I ain't sure if this part is true or not. I heard randy had issue in the past as being a nice guy. I heard of him fighting in bars or spitting on people who asked for autographs ain't sure how true it is. this is second suspension though for steroids but he might of been injuried during it but I remember there was a big story in a sport magazine where him, rey, and a bunch were getting steroids from this doctor. which can be just as worse I mean they destory your kidneys and stuff like that. I mean I hope he gets his life together and that people still remember chris benoit because of steroids. | |

Yeah, I've heard he had a lot of issues in the past, he even said that in his DVD that he was an asshole back when he was younger. I've met him 3 times and he's been amazing, have only heard great stories about him when fans have met him. If he was getting steroids from the doctor he wouldn't have been suspended because he would've had a prescription so I dunno. Just wish people wouldn't judge him, or anyone for that matter, for making mistakes because everyone will. If he speaks up about it we'll probably be able to understand it more. - Big Pun: THEHASHTAGHEEL wrote:

From what I read, 2006 was his last suspension for smoking marijuana backstage

| This is where the question of maturity comes in. He was young and stupid back in the old days. He's supposed to be older and wiser, now. But, it's not like this is the first issue to come up since 2006. Remember the Kelly controversy, last year. Here's the company's golden girl, the face of the Divas, marketed as the sweet, innocent, Girl Next Door, and he does a radio interview going on about what a slut she is. Not smart. And, while a lot of people want to see him in TNA, I'd guess Mr. Anderson doesn't. Hmm, problems with Mr. Kennedy Kennedy, then Miss Kelly Kelly... Maybe Randy just doesn't like people with the same first and last name? | |

| Lol defending Orton...he fucked up...stop making excuses for him. also, no, people that high up in their respective companies dont make mistakes like that all the time, fact. in actuality, if this was a normal company, his ass woulda been canned a long time ago, but since WWE has a 3 strikes and your out rule, hes hanging on by the skin of his teeth. also, Mintz...steroids are BANNED by WWE...even if he had a prescription...theyre ILLEGAL.
also no, theres a difference between being a mark and being passionate about wrestling. being a mark means the wrestler you like does no wrong in your eyes, in this case you're trying to defend him in a situation that is completely undefendable. that would be like a mark trying to defend Chris Benoit regardless of what he did.

This is why people haven't been posting much, because when they do say something others have to come in and bash their opinion or call them a mark. Guess I'm back to just lurking again

| Randy Orton has been doing somethign wrong, as this is his fifth suspension since joining WWE (not sure if its two Wellness suspensions and three hushed up Wellness or three behavior or something). Because of the volume of suspensions I would say WWE should release Randy Orton.
A lot of trust would get placed on a worker, any worker, when they sign a contract, so failing to retain that trust, in my eyes, is ground for release.

Its pretty simple, don't do the crime if you can't do the time. He is a top superstar, so he clearly knows the stakes and what he can and can't do, yet he still manages to do it anyway. And Silva, I don't think a paycut can be done as I'm pretty sure due to his contract he would be paid the same till 2019, hence why this contract is causing so many problems.

For as much heat Cena takes from fans, drugs has never been a big issue for him.
If news would break about Orton or Mysterio, I'm convinced something would be reported about Cena.

You'd think after other superstars & divas have said the same thing that people would actually listen to THEM instead of believing the sites. This is why I don't believe everything I read on those dirtsheets. Can't wait until he's able to speak up about it.
He also told another fan he'd be back in 50 days, so that blows the dirtsheets out of the water by saying they didn't know if he'd be back right when his suspension was up

People in WWE are being tight-lipped about the Randy Orton suspension. One source who did comment believes that Orton tested positive due to a tainted supplement. As noted before, the SuperLucha reports that Orton tested positive for Dianabol are not confirmed.
SuperLuchas and PWInsider also reported a meeting between Orton and WWE officials to discuss his future last weekend. SuperLuchas named Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn and Triple H as the officials who met with Orton. One source says that Dunn would not have been part of the meeting as it's not his department.
Vince McMahon is said to be going back and forth on Orton's future but the feeling is that in the end, they can't and won't get rid of Orton due mainly to depth issues. There is said to be a small, vocal pocket of people that is growing more outspoken about cutting Orton.
Orton's 60 day suspension will reportedly end July 29th, meaning he will miss the 1000th RAW in his hometown of St. Louis on July 23rd but would be eligible to return on the July 30th RAW, in time for the SummerSlam pay-per-view. The talk is that WWE may keep Orton out after his suspension is over, to teach him a lesson and have him miss the annual SummerSlam payday. Orton being gone for 60 days will cost him around $200,000. If he's not booked for SummerSlam and kept off TV for a few weeks longer after the suspension, then he will lose somewhere around $275,000.
