The Television Critics Association have announced the nominees for the 28th Annual TCA Awards. One thing that’s immediately apparent is the impression Homeland made in its first season, with the Showtime series getting four nominations. Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Game of Thrones also stand out with their multiple nominations.

Both myself and fellow IGN editor Matt Fowler are TCA members, and so we voted towards these nominations (and will help vote for the winner). No, I’m not going to go category by category into which nominations I was pushing for, but it’s safe for you to assume neither of our votes were among those aimed at Smash…

The winners of the 28th Annual TCA Awards will be announced at the invitation-only presentation on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, as part of the group’s bi-annual industry conference.
