For the second consecutive week, TNA Impact on Spike TV did not rank in the Top 50 on cable TV Thursday night, which was largely due to DirecTV viewers blacked out due to a dispute between DirecTV and Viacom. We do not have an official rating to report until the official number comes in next week; an estimate is similar to last week in the 0.8 range.

Impact viewership increased to an average of 1.32 million viewers following a two-year-low last week of 1.11 million viewers. On cable TV Thursday night, Impact ranked #49 in average viewers.

TNA's demographic ratings remained about the same as last week and two weeks ago prior to the DirecTV-Viacom issue. The only significant changes were a slight uptick in males & adults 18-34 and a slight downtick in males 18-49.

Caldwell's Analysis: First, it was the NBA Playoffs during a major timeslot change. Now, it's the DirecTV-Viacom issue. TNA just hasn't been able to build any momentum or ratings growth with their opportunity to have 13 live Impact episodes this summer. TNA has five episodes remaining to try to find some momentum going into the fall and Bound for Glory PPV.

TNA Impact last Thursday, July 19 officially scored a 0.91 rating during Week 2 of the DirecTV-Viacom dispute, up slightly from a 0.85 rating on July 12 during Week 1 of the dispute.

Both weeks scored the same 0.85 first hour rating. However, the second hour on July 19 increased one stair-step to a 0.97 second hour rating. On July 12, the second hour stayed at the same level with a 0.86 rating.

The July 19 Impact did not have a quarter-hour rating above a 1.00. The peak was a 0.98 rating in Q7. The second hour quarter-hour ratings were nearly identical with a 0.97, 0.96, 0.98, and 0.96 to close the show.

First Hour Break Down

Q1: Impact opened with a show-low 0.82 rating for the opening segment featuring James Storm trying to call out Kurt Angle before the Aces & Eights jumped Angle backstage. There was also one commercial.

Q2: Impact increased slightly to a 0.86 rating for Samoa Joe calling out The Pope, their match, one commercial, and Jeff Hardy calling out Robbie E.

Q3: Impact returned to a show-low 0.82 rating for a three-minute Hardy vs. Robbie match, one commercial, an EY & ODB skit backstage, Daniels & Kaz backstage, and Jeremy Borash introducing this month's Gut Check contestant. There were also two commercial breaks dragging down the rating.

Q4: Impact scored a first-hour high 0.89 rating for follow-up on Sam Shaw's beat down by A&E, Mr. Anderson calling out A.J. Styles, and one commercial during their match.

Second Hour Break Down

Q5: Impact increased one stair-step to a 0.97 rating for the second-half of Styles vs. Anderson, a post-match angle with Styles and Claire, one commercial, and RVD calling out Daniels for the next BFG Series match.

Q6: Impact remained about the same with a 0.96 rating for RVD vs. Daniels, one commercial, backstage segments, and Magnus calling out Bully Ray.

Q7: Impact increased slightly to a show-high 0.98 rating for Magnus vs. Ray, a video on Chavo Guerrero debuting next week, one commercial, and Bobby Roode coming out for the main event.

Q8: Impact decreased very slightly to a 0.96 rating for the Aries-Roode non-title, under-hyped main event that was interrupted by A&E to close the show. There was also one commercial.
