WWE Smackdown last Friday, August 31 scored a 1.89 rating, up slightly from a 1.84 rating on Aug. 24. It also marked the fifth out of the last six weeks to score a rating that rounded to a 1.9.
Smackdown averaged 2.66 million viewers, which was up three percent compared to 2.59 million viewers on Aug. 24. In the process, Smackdown reversed a five-week downward trend following 2.96 million viewers on the July 20 episode.
July 20 - 2.96 million viewers
July 27 - 2.83 million viewers
Aug. 3 - 2.78 million viewers
Aug. 10 - 2.73 million viewers
Aug. 17 - 2.61 million viewers
Aug. 24 - 2.59 million viewers
Aug. 31 - 2.66 million viewers
On cable TV Thursday night, Smackdown ranked #4 in overall viewers and #2 in all key male demographics behind Week 1 of Friday night college football on ESPN, which averaged 4.2 million viewers.
In the key demographics, Smackdown was up and down compared to the Aug. 24 episode. The significant increase was among males 18-49 to the highest rating since July 20. The significant decrease was among teen males 12-17 to the lowest rating since August 3. | |
