9-14-12 SD Ratings [Before NOC] Gets Slight Increase

It was an unusual ratings night for Smackdown last Friday, September 14 leading into the Night of Champions PPV.

Smackdown scored a 1.96 rating, which was essentially even with a seven-week-high 1.95 rating on Sept. 7.

However, Smackdown averaged 2.69 million viewers, which was down nine percent compared to the previous week's uptick to 2.95 million viewers. Friday's viewership was more in-line with the summer average.

In the demographics, Smackdown took a hit among teen and younger male viewers, but was essentially even among adults & males 18-49 and males 18-34. The drop among younger viewers wasn't enough to affect the overall rating.

On cable TV Friday night, Smackdown ranked #4 in overall viewers and #2 in the 8:00 p.m. EST hour behind Fox News's "O'Reilly Factor." Smackdown ranked #1 in all key male demos on Friday night.

Also of note from the male demo was UFC's newest season of The Ultimate Fighter starting slow with fewer than one million viewers (947,000) on FX. TUF did rank in the Top 5 on Friday night among males & adults 18-34 and males 12-34.
