10-8-12 Raw Ratings Increase From Disastrous Previous Rating.. RawScoreboard_Wide

http://pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/WWE_News_3/article_65828.shtml

WWE Raw on Monday, October 8 scored a 2.78 rating for all three hours, up ten percent from an alarmingly-low 2.54 rating last week.

The rounded 2.8 rating was the highest in three weeks, but still below the beginning of September when Raw rounded to a 2.9 opposite the first few games of the NFL regular season.

- Raw averaged 4.07 million viewers, which was up 17 percent from last week's year-low average of 3.50 million viewers. It was the most viewers in four weeks, but also below the beginning of September.

The hourly pattern was Raw peaked in the new first hour with an average of 4.19 million viewers for John Cena's return and Vince McMahon's advertised speech, dipped to 4.067 million second hour viewers, and stayed about the same with 4.065 million third hour viewers.

It took more than two hours for Raw to get from the McMahon-C.M. Punk confrontation to their "fight" at the end of the show, which led to stagnant viewership during the final two hours of Raw.

- On cable TV Monday night, Raw ranked #4 behind ESPN's Monday Night Football game, TNT's "Major Crimes" drama, and MLB Playoffs, which slightly outdrew Raw. Football averaged 14.1 million viewers, which was down two million viewers from last week's seasonal high.

- In the demographic ratings, Raw rebounded two-to-three-tenths of a rating in every demo compared to last week, but Raw was virtually even with the episode two weeks ago, so there wasn't much of an overall gain.

ANALYSIS: Raw recovered and found its footing after last week's poor performance, but now the key is whether the show goes backwards from here after Cena & McMahon's returns or if WWE can build momentum off those returns and push toward the 3.0-level. Right now, though, it seems like a 2.8 will be the standard Raw rating going forward during the three-hour Raw era.
