Despite her critically acclaimed performance as 'Betty Draper' in AMC's Mad Men, January Jones's take on 'Emma Frost' in X-Men: First Class was met with something of a mixed reaction from fans and critics alike. At the conclusion of that movie, the character was seen alongside 'Magneto' and his Brotherhood of Mutants. Regardless, she told Collider at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival that we probably shouldn't expect to see her return in the highly anticipated sequel.
"I don’t know that I’m in it, I don’t think Emma’s in this one. Well they haven’t told me if I am (laughs). I wouldn’t put it past them though, I got the script for the first one on the airplane on the way there. It’s called Days of Future Past I think, and I think it’s more about James and Michael and then Patrick and Ian, and I think it’s gonna go back and forth with those so I don’t think Emma’s in those bits. I don’t know, I really don’t know."
So, while she doesn't completely dismiss the possibility of making a return, it is a little strange that she hasn't been contacted about that by Fox at this point (especially as production is already in its early stages). The film is obviously going to be pretty packed out as it brings back the likes of Hugh Jackman's 'Wolverine', but could this mean that we won't see a few of the other characters introduced by Matthew Vaughn? How do you feel about the possibility of there not being an 'Emma Frost' in the sequel? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!
