TNA Impact on Thursday, March 7 leading into the Lockdown PPV officially scored a 1.13 rating off a first hour 1.11 rating and second hour 1.15 rating.
It was the highest-rated first hour of the year and one of the lowest-rated second hours of the year, pushing Impact toward the middle of their 2013 average rating.
Impact peaked in the first hour with a 1.18 rating in Q3 for Kurt Angle attempting to reveal D-Lo Brown as the Aces & Eights VP character. The show did not recover after the third quarter; even the typically-highest-rated segment at the top of the second hour only scored a 1.16 rating, which was one of the lowest Q5 ratings of the year.
First Hour Break Down
Q1: Impact opened with a 1.04 rating for Austin Aries starting the show before TNA went to a quick-hit PPV main-event-giveaway of Austin Aries vs. Jeff Hardy. There was one mid-match commercial.
Q2: Impact increased one stairstep to a 1.15 rating for the second-half of Aries vs. Hardy that ended with Matt Morgan's interference, plus one commercial.
Q3: Impact increased to a show-high 1.18 rating for D-Lo Brown revealed as an Aces & Eights member after Wes Brisco interrupted Angle's segment. There was also one commercial before the first-half of Sting vs. Devon.
Q4: Impact dipped one stairstep to a 1.07 rating for the second-half of Sting vs. Devon, the first Gut Check evaluation, and two full commercial breaks.
Second Hour Break Down
Q5: Impact got its usual top-of-the-second-hour bump to a 1.16 rating, but it was nowhere near the last three weeks. The segment featured an unhyped mixed six-person tag match, one commercial, and the latest update on A.J. Styles.
Q6: Impact decreased slightly to a second-hour-low 1.13 rating for Samoa Joe & Magnus vs. D.O.C. & Garett Bischoff, plus one commercial.
Q7: Impact increased slightly to a 1.15 rating for the Gut Check voting, one commercial, and the full Mr. Anderson vs. James Storm main event.
Q8: Impact stayed the same at a 1.15 rating for the final Hardy-Bully Ray confrontation leading to Lockdown and Hulk Hogan interrupting for a ra-ra speech. | |
