'Glee' star Cory Monteith found dead in hotel in Canada

(CNN) -- Cory Monteith, who played heart throb Finn Hudson in the Fox hit "Glee," was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room Saturday, Vancouver police said. He was 31.

Police said the cause of death was not immediately apparent, but they ruled out foul play.

Monteith spent time in rehab early this year, checking into a drug addiction treatment facility in April.

He had been frank about his struggles with substance abuse, telling Parade magazine in 2011 that he began using drugs at 13, and by 19 went into rehab after his mother and friends intervened.

Monteith had been on the musical comedy show since it began in 2009.

In 2011, he won a Teen Choice award for top actor in a comedy. The show's cast won a Screen Actors Guild award for an ensemble in a comedy the prior year.

I saw Todrick Hall talking about this on youtube, at first I thought it was a cruel joke, but damn that sucks, I know Lea and his family are taking this very hard. I wonder how they're going to write him out of Glee now?

They will kill him off (let's face it.... a death was long overdue) with that bloaded cast.

I stopped watching at the beginning of S2, but I keep seeing people say he and Lea were engaged and getting married in 2 weeks; is this true?

They were suppose to, I wonder if they'll do a tribute show for him.

If they kept Finn in the military, that's how his character could be written out; being stationed overseas, a tour of duty, or dying in combat. If the last happened you know they'd have Rachel singing Just A Dream.

Just have the girl sing a song maybe Whitney Houston-"I Will Always Love You".

The Westboro Baptist Church much to the surprise of no one, announced plans to picket his funeral and they're sending awful tweets to the Glee cast.

How about a cast tribute song.
