Joss Whedon confirms Hank Pym will NOT Create Ultron in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON'

Earlier today it was it was revealed that, despite his comics creation "Ultron" being featured in the upcoming Avengers sequel, Hank Pym himself would not be appearing in the film. Fans speculated that Pym could have a hand in Ultron's creation, despite not being featured in the film.

Now, via an interview with io9, Joss Whedon has confirmed that Hank Pym will not be the creator of the titular villain, as well as elaborating on why he thinks that you can "absolutely" have Ultron, without Pym.

"We don't have to have him. It works very simply — this is Marvel cinema, not Marvel comics. One thing [Marvel Studios head] Kevin Feige has a genius for is knowing what to hold onto and what to let go of. You can invoke the feeling you had and play with the characters you love and remain true to the needs of the film."

When asked how this will affect Ultron's story, Whedon smiled and responded:

"You'll have to wait and and see, but you don't need a Pym to create an Ultron."

I like Pym as the creator, as it just adds to his laundry list of issues that sort of define his character.

Iron Man has his own faults, which I think Disney messed up by not capitalizing on. Downey Jr. would have been perfect to play fall and rise of Stark due to alcoholism.

Isn't Hank Pym getting the first film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Also, who's to say he didn't have a hand in creating The Avengers. For all we know Pym might be working for SHIELD already and be close to Nick Fury in some capacity. For all we know, he might be tied in to a lot of previous events.
