Will Taylor Swift Make Grammy History With Second Album Of The Year Win? Grammys-taylor-swift-red

I wasn't predicting an Album of the Year nomination for Taylor Swift's "Red" at the Grammys. After she won this top prize for "Fearless" in 2009, they passed over her follow-up disc "Speak Now," so I thought they'd make her wait awhile before lavishing her with more attention in the general field. That's the same reason I'm not predicting her to win the category despite a wide-open field. Or will NARAS voters give her a historic second win at just 24 years old?

With that award for "Fearless," Swift became the youngest winner of Album of the Year at age 20, sliding in more than a year and a half under Alanis Morissette, who was 21 when she won for "Jagged Little Pill." Barbra Streisand won at 22, while Lauryn Hill, Adele, Stevie Wonder, and Norah Jones all were 23 when they prevailed.

And if Swift wins again she'll be in far more elite company. Three men -- Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Wonder -- are tied at three Album Grammys each while three women -- Hill, Jones, and Alison Krauss-- have all won twice. But none of those women won twice for their own albums.

Hill won for her her solo debut, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," and then again for contributing to Santana's "Supernatural."

Jones also won for her debut, "Come Away with Me," and her second came as a featured artist on Herbie Hancock's "River: The Joni Letters."

Krauss won for her collaboration with Robert Plant, "Raising Sand." A few years prior she had won along with numerous other artists included on the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack.

With a second win, Swift would join others who have won twice as album artists including Beatles John Lennon ("Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and "Double Fantasy" with Yoko Ono) and George Harrison ("Sgt. Pepper's" and "The Concert for Bangla Desh"), as well as U2 ("The Joshua Tree" and "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb").

Bob Dylan is another double-winner, for his own "Time Out of Mind" and earlier for featuring on Harrison's "Concert for Bangla Desh," so Swift would have one up on him. It seems almost impossible to think Swift might achieve something Dylan didn't, but the Grammys are like that sometimes; plenty of artists have Grammy totals that exceed their relative esteem: consider that Beyonce, with 17 Grammys, is just one away from tying Aretha Franklin's record haul.

Will Swift make history? She currently ranks third in our predictions center.

^ Idk about no one liking her before the Kanye thing.

As for her winning another AOTY Grammy so soon I doubt it will happen.

While I like some of the songs I think Macklemore should win it.
