TNA Impact Wrestling on Thursday, September 30 officially scored a 1.14 rating off a first hour 1.18 rating and second hour 1.10 rating.
Impact opened with a 1.18 rating and concluded with a 1.15 rating for Hulk Hogan's "big announcement." The eighth quarter-hour did include the end of A.J. Styles vs. Robert Roode and one commercial before Hogan's speech concluded Impact.
The overall rating and second hour rating were dragged down by a 1.01 rating in Q6 and a 1.06 rating in Q7. Each quarter-hour in the second hour was below the corresponding 2011 average.
Impact's peak rating was a 1.21 rating in the third quarter-hour for a segment featuring the Jarretts and Knockouts.
First Hour Break Down
Q1: Impact opened with a 1.18 rating for Sting addressing Robert Roode and Fortune in a segment that went nearly the full 15 minutes before the first commercial. (down 0.5% vs. 2011 average of a 1.19 rating to start Impact.)
Q2: Impact dropped slightly to a 1.13 rating for the X Division ladder match, one commercial, and a Ric Flair backstage appearance. (down 2.9% vs. 2011 average)
Q3: Impact increased to the highest rating of the show with a 1.21 for the Jarretts vs. Knockouts in-ring verbal segment, one commercial, and a fight between Mexican America and Ink, Inc. (up 3.2% vs. 2011 average)
Q4: Impact declined slightly to a 1.18 rating for various backstage promos, two full commercial breaks, and the first-half of Madison Rayne vs. Tara in this week's Knockouts match. It's a strong rating considering two full breaks and Q4 typically being a dead quarter-hour for Impact. (up 4.8% vs. 2011 average)
Second Hour Break Down
Q5: Impact was slightly lower than Q4 with a 1.17 rating to begin the second hour. The segment featured the second-half of the KO match, a full commercial, Daniels backstage, and Crimson calling out Samoa Joe in the ring.
It marked the first time since April 28 (22 weeks) and only the second time this year that Q5 rated lower than Q4. (down 5.8% vs. 2011 average)
Q6: Impact dropped to a show-low 1.01 rating for Mr. Anderson vs. The Pope and one-and-a-half commercial breaks. This was the second-lowest Q6 rating of the year. (down 13.8% vs. 2011 average)
Q7: Impact increased slightly to the second-lowest rating of the show with a 1.06. The segment included the other half of the Q6 commercial, Devon and Pope backstage, a Robert Roode hype video, and the first-half of Roode vs. Styles in the main event. (down 8.4% vs. 2011 average)
Q8: Impact increased to a 1.15 rating for the second-half of Roode vs. Styles, one commercial, and Hulk Hogan's "big announcement." | |
