| Subject: Quarter-Hour Ratings for 12/15 Impact Sat 17 Dec 2011, 2:25 am | |
| http://pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/TNA_News_1/article_56084.shtml
TNA Impact Wrestling on Thursday, December 15 scored a 1.14 overall rating off a first hour 1.17 rating and second hour 1.11 rating.
Impact's peak rating came in the first quarter-hour with a 1.22 rating for the Robert Roode vs. A.J. Styles TNA World Title match extended from Final Resolution.
Impact steadily dropped off during the show, bottomed out with a 1.05 rating in the eighth quarter-hour for the Jarretts firing segment following a commercial, and increased to a 1.13 rating in a seven-minute over-run for Jeff Hardy vs. Bully Ray in the main event.
First Hour Break Down
Q1: Impact peaked with a 1.22 rating for the immediate PPV fall-out with Roode-Styles for the TNA World Title, plus one commercial break. (up 3.4% vs. 2011-Q1 average)
Q2: Impact declined marginally to a 1.16 rating for opening match fall-out and Abyss & Scott Steiner vs. Hernandez & Rob Terry in the first tag tournament match. There was also one commercial. (dead even vs. 2011-Q2 average)
Q3: Impact increased slightly to a 1.18 rating - the second-highest rating of the show - for Kurt Angle and Sting's in-ring confrontation, Jarretts backstage, and an X Division match of Zema Ion vs. Anthony Nese. (even vs. 2011-Q3 average)
Q4: Impact decreased to a 1.12 rating for Jesse Neal vs. Gunner with Ric Flair, plus two full commercial breaks, which dragged down the rating. (even vs. 2011-Q4 average)
Second Hour Break Down
Q5: The second hour opened with a very slight increase to a 1.13 rating. The segment contained all talking with Jeff Hardy and Bully Ray in the ring, the Jarretts backstage, and Samoa Joe and Magnus backstage. There was also one commercial. (down 8.5% vs. 2011-Q5 average)
Q6: Impact scored a nearly identical 1.12 rating for Joe & Magnus vs. Robbie E. & Doug Williams, more Jarretts backstage, ODB & EY backstage, a commercial, and Devon coming to the ring for a talking segment. (down 3.5% vs. 2011-Q6 average)
Q7: Impact continued the trend of 1.12s and 1.13s with the same 1.12 rating for Devon and The Pope's in-ring segment, one commercial break, and Traci Brooks vs. Madison Rayne for the Knockouts match of the week. (down 1.8% vs. 2011-Q7 average)
Q8: Impact had the first noticeable decline since the first hour with a 1.05 rating - the low point of the show. The segment included a commercial break at the start of the quarter-hour, then Sting revealing both Jarretts were "fired," and ring intros for the main event.
Over-run: Impact increased to a 1.13 rating for the Jeff Hardy vs. Bully Ray main event and post-match angle that closed Impact seven minutes past the top of the hour.
Caldwell's Analysis: Remarkably, the first hour was nearly identical to the yearly pattern. The second hour then continued the traditional pattern of ratings slowly dropping off. The over-run helped boost the second hour, though. It's worth noting the Knockouts have not drawn as well the past few weeks. Perhaps the lack of a clear direction for the Knockouts Title with Gail Kim, the lack of a marketable faction such as the Beautiful People, the wrong mix of Knockouts in individual segments, or over-exposure has put a temporarily halt to their weekly ratings dominance.

Have they ever got a 2.0+ rating?
I'm talking rating NOT 2 million+ viewers..
The rating is pretty normal I guess.
Not horrible but not great either.
Sucks the KOs are not scoring as well as before but then again who really cared about Madison v Traci?
I think after reading the spoilers for a few weeks in advance I think a couple weeks from now may be a real test to see if the KOs still deliver one of the top ratings of the night.

| Its pretty sad that the KOs are the ones who get the higher ratings when they have men like hogan, sting, and Kurt Angle. But I can understand why.Seeing women fight on a mens network. But still its pretty sad. | |
