| Subject: Which #1 Hit Should Adele Submit For Grammys Record of the Year Categoriy? Mon 10 Oct 2011, 4:40 am | |

Now that the eligibility period for the Grammys has ended, Adele has a tough decision to make between her #1 hits "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You." She must choose which one to back in a bid for Record of the Year.
Whichever song she chooses to back will be a serious threat to win this top tier Grammy. Adele contended in this category in 2009 with "Chasing Pavements," but lost to "Please Read the Letter" by Alison Krauss and Robert Plant.
Strategic positioning is a necessity at the Grammys. Beyonce had the foresight to submit only "Halo" for Record of the Year in 2010, though her "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" was a bigger hit. She managed an easy nomination for her beautiful ballad, although rockers Kings of Leon took the prize for "Use Somebody." Her "Single Ladies" meanwhile contended in Song of the Year, where it won.
No performer has ever been nominated for Record of the Year for two tracks in a single year. Carole King came closest in 1972 when she won for "It's Too Late." She penned "You've Got a Friend," which was featured on her Album of the Year winner "Tapestry," but the version cited by the Grammys was by James Taylor.
While Adele's powerhouse ballad "Someone Like You" would be a safe bet, the exuberant "Rolling in the Deep" dominated the charts all summer. It sat atop Billboard's Hot 100 for seven weeks and crossed over to multiple genre charts, which means it may appeal to more Grammy voters. ------------------------- Which one should she submit?

| I love them both. Personally, I would like to see Someone Like You win the big Grammy, but I think Rolling in the Deep might have a better shot. | |

| I love them both but I voted for Rolling in the Deep.
I think it will have a better chance of winning as well but regardless she should still win.. | |
