Trish Says She Would Have Returned to Face Kharma, Addresses “Models vs Wrestlers” Debate

Seven-time WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus returns to WWE’s video game series this fall when she’ll be available — for the first time as a brunette — as a downloadable character in WWE ’12.

Trish spoke to WWE.com about her virtual return to WWE and also weighed in on the current Divas.

Speaking on Kharma, who will be available in the same download pack as Trish’s WWE ’12 character, Trish reveals that she would have come out of retirement to feud with the imposing monster.

WWE.com: The imposing Kharma is also a downloadable character in WWE ’12. Would you have loved to step in the ring with that monster?

TRISH: Oh, completely. When she debuted, I think it was one of the first times since I retired where I would have dropped it all to go back and step into the ring with her. That would have been an epic rivalry. I would have loved to have wrestled her. Hopefully, she’ll come back so the WWE Universe can see more of her.

Trish also discusses the current debate amongst the Divas of “models vs wrestlers”, saying:

I think my M.O. is more in line with that of Beth & Natalya. Once I entered WWE, it was a conscious decision for me to not be about modeling anymore — my career focus was all about what I did in the ring. I can, however, relate to Kelly Kelly & Eve. It’s tough, coming from one industry, to try and be taken seriously in another. That’s when it all comes down to just going out and proving yourself. All those girls are capable of doing that and leaving an impact in any world they decide to rock.

The term she used was "would have been," so you can calm down. It ain't happening. The only time she's getting in the ring is if she's doing Tough Enough again or getting her HoF ring. She was answering a direct question about whether she'd have liked to work with Kharma. What other answer could she give?

There's no guarantee that Kharma's ever returning, even. She's not just going to pop out the kid and hop immediately back in the ring straight from the delivery room. Trish used the term "hopefully" regarding whether we'd see Kharma wrestling anyone again. She may well be done as a full time wrestler.

They always talk about who they'd like to work with, even when they know they never will. It's complementing a wrestler they think highly of, mainly. Trish and Natalya have wanted to do something for years. Never happened. Trish & Angelina talk about it and they know it'll never happen. Gail wants to work with Trish, again. Hell, Maryse wanted a program with Trish. It's a Canada thing, I guess. They all want each other. Except Rosa.

Don't expect Beth to get her dream match with Lita, either. That has too great a potential for quality. I'd be shocked if Vince were to go against the direction he seems hide bound to stick with. He really seems to believe the WWE Universe just never gets tired of Kelly/Eve/Alicia vs DoD.

Rosa keeps her dreams realistic. Gotta give her that. Or, maybe what she said was misinterpreted. Her dream match isn't with Eve. She wants a gauntlet match with the entire EVE roster.

I do think Trish & Amy have a lot to offer the Division, even though neither have any desire to return in a full time capacity. Who better as consultants, and to come up with training programs geared specifically to the Divas. They mentioned wanting to put them through what they called Diva Boot Camp. I'm curious as to what those two would put these girls through.
