| Subject: Quarter-Hour Ratings For Jan 5th Impact Sat 07 Jan 2012, 12:47 am | |

TNA Impact Wrestling on Thursday, January 5 scored a 1.11 overall rating off a first hour 1.18 rating and second hour 1.05 rating.
The first hour rating was the highest in one month. The second hour rating was the lowest in 12 weeks dating back to mid-October before the Bound for Glory PPV.
Impact peaked in the first segment of the show with a 1.23 rating. Impact then steadily dropped off to a show-low 0.99 rating in the seventh quarter-hour. Impact rebounded to a 1.05 rating in the final quarter-hour for a six-man tag main event.
First Hour Break Down
Q1: Impact opened with a 1.23 rating for a show-opening exchange involving Sting, Robert Roode & Bully Ray & Kurt Angle, and Jeff Hardy & Abyss & James Storm. (up 4.4% vs. 2011-Q1 average)
Q2: Impact dropped to a first-hour low 1.09 rating. The segment included two commercial breaks and the first-half of a Knockouts Tag Title match, with the commercials dragging down the rating. (down 5.7% vs. 2011-Q2 average)
Q3: Impact rebounded to a near-show-high 1.22 rating for the second-half of the KO Tag Title match, backstage segments, and half of a commercial break. (up 4.6% vs. 2011-Q3 average)
Q4: Impact began a steady decline with a 1.16 rating for the first-half of RVD vs. Gunner and one-and-a-half commercial breaks. (up 3.1% vs. 2011-Q4 average)
Second Hour Break Down
Q5: In a rare occurrence from Q4 to Q5, Impact declined to a 1.12 rating for RVD-Gunner part 2, backstage promos for the main event, the first-half of an X Division tag match, and one commercial break. This was the first Q4 to Q5 decline since October 20. (down 9.1% vs. 2011-Q5 average)
Q6: Impact declined to a 1.03 rating for a segment with the second-half of the X Division tag, one commercial, and the first-half of the Wild Card tag tournament finals. (down 11.2% vs. 2011-Q6 average)
Q7: Impact declined to a show-low 0.99 rating for the tag match part 2 and one commercial break. (down 13.1% vs. 2011-Q7 average)
Q8: Impact rebounded to a 1.05 rating for the main event six-man tag match and one commercial break. (down 10.8% vs. 2011-Q8 average)
Caldwell's Analysis: Another tough second hour for Impact. TV competition during the 10:00 p.m. EST hour continues to hurt Impact's second hour and overall rating, plus TNA hasn't been able to get people to come back for main events after setting up the matches in the opening segment as of late. The issue has extended to WWE Raw, too. | |
