| Subject: Smackdown Replay [2/24] Nearly Outdraws Live Super Smackdown Special [2/21] Tue 28 Feb 2012, 5:21 am | |

The WWE Smackdown replay on Friday, February 24 scored a 1.49 rating after the original live airing scored a 1.67 rating.
On cable TV Friday night, Smackdown ranked #19 in overall viewers, #15 among males 18-34, and #4 among males 18-49. The replay was #1 during the first hour among m18-49.
Smackdown averaged 2.24 million viewers, nearly topping the live Tuesday night special, which averaged 2.32 million viewers.
It was easily the most-watched Smackdown replay of the three live specials that have aired on Syfy. The most-recent live special on November 29, 2011 averaged 3.05 million viewers and averaged 1.95 million viewers on December 2 for the replay.
However, Smackdown averaged the fewest combined viewers of the three specials, trailing the November/December "Christmas" themed episode by 400,000 viewers (8.4 percent).
Combined live special & replay
Aug. 30/Sept. 2 - 4.86 million viewers Nov. 29/Dec. 2 - 4.99 million viewers Feb. 21/Feb. 24 - 4.57 million viewers
Caldwell's Analysis: More confirmation that WWE did not promote last week's live special effectively and that Friday night is Smackdown's home now that the audience has settled in to watching the show on Fridays. It should be a signal for WWE and Syfy to cut back on the pace of live specials and actually be ready to promote future live specials to make the episodes seem special, unlike last week's show.
