| Subject: Impact Quarter-Hour Ratings For Sacrifice Lead-In [5-10-12] Tue 15 May 2012, 7:34 am | |
| http://pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/TNA_News_1/article_61390.shtml
TNA Impact Wrestling on Thursday, May 10 leading into the Sacrifice PPV officially scored a 1.11 rating. The first hour scored a 1.02 rating before Impact jumped 17 percent to a 1.20 second hour rating.
Impact scored the second-highest second hour rating of the year, trailing a February episode. It was also a vast improvement over last week's show, which concluded with a 0.99 second hour rating, which was the second-lowest second hour rating of the year.
The concern, though, is the first hour, which will soon become the final hour when TNA moves up an hour to 8:00 p.m. EST in two weeks. The first hour continued to perform below-average, but the first hour was up slightly compared to ratings below a 1.0 over the past four weeks during a poor stretch for Impact.
Impact's peak rating was a 1.26 rating in Q6, which followed a 1.25 rating in Q5 to begin the second hour. Impact then dropped off slightly to a 1.20 rating in Q7 before dropping down to a 1.10 rating in Q8 for the main event four-way match.
First Hour Break Down:
Q1: Impact opened with a show-low 0.92 rating, continuing the recent trend of Impact starting on the wrong foot. The opening segment included focus on Bobby Roode-RVD, Hulk Hogan interrupting to set up the main event, and one commercial. (down 21.9% vs. 2011-Q1 average)
Q2: Impact increased slightly to a 0.96 rating for Velvet Sky vs. Brooke Tessmacher in the opening match, backstage segments, and one commercial. (down 16.9% vs. 2011-Q2 average)
Q3: Impact increased to a 1.04 rating for a segment focused on a teased Matt Morgan vs. Crimson match that was interrupted by Bully Ray taking out Morgan, plus one-and-a-half commercial breaks. (down 10.8% vs. 2011-Q3 average)
Q4: Impact increased to a first-hour-high 1.14 rating for Austin Aries vs. Zema Ion for the X Division Title, backstage segments, and one-and-a-half commercial breaks. (up 1.4% vs. 2011-Q4 average)
Second Hour Break Down:
Q5: Impact increased to a 1.25 rating for Daniels and Kazarian revealing A.J. Styles's "scandalous" photos, plus one commercial break. (up 1.5% vs. 2011-Q5 average)
Q6: Impact increased slightly to a show-high 1.26 rating for a quick TV Title match, James Storm video, Joseph Park's arrival, one commercial, and Park in the ring addressing Abyss's whereabouts. This was the highest-rated Q6 of the year. (up 8.6% vs. 2011-Q6 average)
Q7: Impact declined for the first time during the show with a 1.20 rating for Park-Abyss part 2, backstage segments and video packages, and one commercial. (up 5.3% vs. 2011-Q7 average)
Q8: Impact declined to a second-hour-low 1.10 rating for the four-way main event of Bobby Roode vs. RVD vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson, plus one commercial. (down 6.6 percent vs. 2011-Q8 average) | |
