TNA Impact on Thursday, August 16 rebounded to a 1.06 rating following a poor 0.90 rating last week against the final Thursday of the Olympics.
The overall rating was the second-highest of the live summer run, trailing a 1.09 on July 26 the day before the Olympics started.
Impact averaged 1.46 million viewers, up 16 percent from 1.21 million viewers last week. Viewership fell in-between the summer average and pre-summer 2012 average.
On cable TV Thursday night, Impact ranked #40 in overall viewers, #14 among males 18-34, and #15 among males 18-49. Impact rebounded from last week's poor showing in the key male demographics, but remained within the usual range without showing upward movement heading into the tough fall season.

TNA Impact last Thursday, July 16 officially scored a 1.06 rating off a first hour 0.94 rating and second hour 1.17 rating.
Impact continues to be dragged down by the new first hour, which had no quarter-hour above a 1.0. The encouraging news is Impact's second hour was the highest-rated second hour of the live summer run.
Also encouraging is the highest-rated quarter-hours of the show were in the final 30 minutes, as Impact grew to a 1.17 in Q7 and finished with a 1.23. Q8 was the highest-rated quarter-hour for any Impact episode during the live summer run.
First Hour Break Down
Q1: Impact opened with a 0.93 rating for Austin Aries, babyfaces, and Bully Ray in the ring setting the stage for the show after Hardcore Justice. There was also one commercial.
Q2: Impact dipped to a show-low 0.90 rating for the opening Samoa Joe vs. Magnus match, Madison Rayne backstage, and one commercial.
Q3: Impact increased to a first-hour-high 0.98 rating for Madison Rayne's Knockouts Title speech, Brooke Hogan's interruption, babyfaces & Bully saving Brooke, Sting's rallying speech, and one-and-a-half commercials.
Q4: Impact stayed close to Q3 with a 0.96 rating for the first half of A.J. Styles vs. Daniels and one-and-a-half commercial breaks.
Second Hour Break Down
Q5: Impact jumped to a 1.16 rating for the second-half of Styles vs. Daniels, backstage segments, and one commercial. (This was the highest-rated Q5 of the live summer run.)
Q6: Impact decreased slightly to a 1.13 rating for Bobby Roode's "walking away" speech after his title loss to Aries at Hardcore Justice, plus one commercial break.
Q7: Impact increased to a 1.17 rating for Miss Tessmacher capturing the Knockouts Title from Madison Rayne with Taryn Terrell debuting as special referee. This was the first significant movement for a Knockouts segment in several weeks. It was also the highest-rated Q7 of the live summer run.
Q8: Impact increased to a show-high 1.23 rating for the Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy main event, one commercial, and post-match attack on James Storm by the Aces & Eights group. This was the highest-rated quarter-hour during the live summer run and highest-rated segment since May 17. | |
