TNA Impact on Thursday, September 6 scored a 0.96 rating, down one-tenth of a rating from a 1.07 rating last week. It was the lowest rating since a 0.90 rating on August 9.
Impact averaged 1.22 million viewers, down 200,000 viewers from an average of 1.42 million viewers last week. It was the fewest viewers since the Aug. 9 episode.
On cable TV Thursday night, Impact ranked a distant #46, #35 among males 18-34, which was one of the lowest ranks of the year, and #21 among males 18-49.
Impact registered year-lows in the key male demographics, and teen males dropped off the cable rankings, not registering a rating.
Cable competition included the live VMAs on MTV, which appeared to draw away younger viewers, college football on ESPN drawing away the key male demographic, and Democratic National Convention coverage drawing away the general audience. What was left was TNA's core, weekly base of about one million viewers.

TNA Impact on Thursday, September 6 officially scored a 0.94 rating, which was down 14 percent compared to the previous week. Thursday's PPV lead-in episode scored a 0.89 first hour rating and 1.00 second hour rating.
Impact was hurt by a slow start in the new first hour. The show opened with a 0.79 rating in the first quarter-hour, which was the lowest since the first week in the new timeslot on May 31.
Also, the 0.79 rating in Q1 was down nearly three-tenths of a rating (25 percent) compared to a 1.05 rating in Q1 the previous week, likely due to TV competition.
The first hour slowly built to a 1.06 rating at the top of the second hour. Impact then dipped below a 1.00 in Q6 and Q7 before finishing with a 1.04 rating in Q8 for the main event Tag Title match and five minutes of Austin Aries confronting Aces & Eights.

Q4: Impact increased slightly to a 0.94 rating for Joey Ryan and Al Snow's in-ring confrontation, Hulk Hogan backstage, and one-and-a-half commercials. (Q4 Last Four Weeks - 0.96, 1.08, 1.06, 0.94)
