TNA Impact live on Thursday, June 7 scored a 0.99 (1.0) rating, up one-tenth of a rating from last week's first live show of the summer. Impact remained below the yearly average of a 1.07 rating.
However, Impact averaged 1.25 million viewers, which was fewer than last week's 1.29 million viewers. It was the fewest viewers in nearly two years dating back to June 2010.
Despite the overall rating increasing, the demographic ratings were down in most demographics compared to last week's show. The only demo that increased compared to last week was males 18-49 with a slight increase to the highest rating since April 26. On the flip-side, Impact scored the lowest rating of the year in males 12-34 and second-lowest in males 18-34.
The NBA Playoffs will be blamed for affecting Impact viewership, as the star-driven Celtics vs. Heat game averaged 11.1 million viewers. Overall on cable TV Thursday night, Impact ranked #32 in overall viewers, #13 in males 18-34, and #10 in males 18-49. It was the first Top 10 rank for Impact since March 22.
-- We will have quarter-hour ratings next week to see if there are improvements in the new first hour.
Caldwell's Analysis: It's going to take some time for casual viewers to adjust to the new timeslot an hour earlier. And, being live hasn't made a difference yet. | |
