| Just for the sake of clarity, when I said "person" I meant the what he or she (wrestler) is like off-screen. Too much is going on around me to worry about what my favorite wrestler is like in real life - it isn't worth my time! | |

Maybe it wasn't you that I was referring too, did you ever stop to consider that? Are you one of the ones who go around chanting "fuck you Cena" "I hope you die?" Are you one of the ones who go around on the internet gloating and celebrating whenever an unfortunate event happens in the man's life like him getting injured a while back? Like I've said many times before, there's a difference between the fans who just dislike his gimmick, and the fans who are just plain freaking idiots and take what they see on TV too seriously. I get that. Wins/losses don't mean anything to me because they aren't legit. If WWE management is down on someone, they loose matches whether their true wrestling ability is there or not. I mean, do you really think that despite Cena not being able to "defeat" Batista at a PPV, just one night later, he has the stamina and the ability to "defeat" two fresh hungry contenders in a handicap match, being Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes? Trust me man, you should take wins and losses in the WWE with a pinch of salt, because they're worth nothing in the real world. It would be different if this was UFC.

| I'll admit that the majority of the guys matches are shit.
He makes me wanna pull my hair out sometimes because of how much his in ring ability has taken a turn for the worse, and it doesn't have to be this way.
JR calls him "refined," and says that he is better now than he was back in his early days, which is a load of horse shit. Just because he was a little aggressive and hit harder than most. That's what the fans like to see.
WWE's problem is that everything has to be fancy. Cena's not a fancy wrestler, he's a ground-and-pound wrestler who needs to go back to what brought him to the dance, and that's his physicality and aggressiveness.
I freaking HATE PG WWE!!!!
They're trying to make Cena out to be this role-model, when he really isn't role-model material. Cena's more of an everyman. How can you have a role-model that's a borderline alcoholic, and has a filthy mouth? Those are qualities that should have Cena relating to the guys who are now booing him. That's exactly WHY they're booing him, because he went from a guy that they could root for, to the "Barney" of wrestling! If anyone in the WWE should be a "role-model," is should be CM Punk.
And what really grinds my gears is how he's so passive and so nonchalant with his offense while his opponent is beating the living hell out of him. Some of his opponents really take it to him and intentionally (I think) get a little stiff with Cena refusing to respond, and that irks the living shit outta me!
I wish it would all stop, I really do. I can't stand to watch anymore of this one-sided kiddy circus! |

| CM Punk isn't a role model... not with all the piercings and tattoos... the parents would go insane.
Cena sells a ton of merchandise, and will be around for at least a few more years... so he's perfect for the role. |

LOL! Other than that, he fits the role-model description. He's got the same qualities that Cena has, and he doesn't drink, do drugs, or cuss (that I've heard anywayz.) |

Before you took all that time making this post, did you consider that I was commenting to another post? Probably not. I was responding to Mick, so you need to relax. It seems like you're getting frustrated with this topic and are taking it out on random people. Chillax, kiddo!

- John Cena does horrible promos. Can't defend himself on the mic for some reason without complimenting his opponent. Always wins or gets a payback like he's some fake Stone Cold Steve Austin emulator. Can't throw a decent strike if his life depended on it. He's not as bad as Cripple H but he's pretty much a channel change. He's geared towards children and anyone above 13 defending him in this thread must have a low standard of what the WWE has degressed to in the last 6 years.
Why is it always "Cena does this" or "Cena does that," instead of people pointing the finger at the correct culprit?
That's like blaming the Prez for a publicly esteemed bill not getting passed through congress because of partisan differences.
John Cena has NO control over his promos. He delivers what they tell him to deliver, how the tell him to deliver. He's a company man, he does what he's told, and that's why he's a success. That shows responsibility and respect for his higher ups, which unfortunately, makes him look bad to all of the fans. If he pulled an Austin, and walked off the job because of creative differences, he'd be ruined. Vince is a control freak. The same entertainment that we watch each and every week is whatever Vince likes.
As far as his wins and "payback," that's part of the whole face gimmick. Faces are supposed to always win and get payback. Look at Triple McMahon and Boretista. Look at CM Punk. Look at Jeff Hardy.
As far as him "throwing strikes," what the hell are you talking about? It's kayfabe for the love of God, none of the strikes are real. I've seen worse from some of the other fan favorites, Tbh.
The last thing you said about "being geared towards children," has pretty much been explained at least 3 times in this thread, so I'm not gonna rehash that. It's not Cena, it's Vince, and what Vince feels is good for business.
Oh, and you're jab made me laugh, because I've heard it all so many times. People defending him see him for what he is as a person, not money WWE's tool.

Excuse me?
Who are you again, cuz you sure as hell aren't in any position to be judging people 'round here. LOL@he has no control over his promos. He'll never be seen as the best of anything if he's that limited. Jericho put together masterpieces every week with his promos that NO ONE is writing for him and he's extremely over as heel to the point where fans want to attack outside arenas. Cena? He's worrying about a icon who retired early and finds him "laughable". John Cena is a hick and the sooner he's off television for that garbage next month, the better.
