SmackDown Spoilers (5/26/09) (Airing Friday)
* Vince McMahon is out to open SmackDown.

* Teddy Long announces that the main event with be "Rage in a Cage" with Edge & Chris Jericho vs. Jeffy Hardy & Rey Mysterio with CM Punk as the special guest referee.

* R-Truth b. Shelton Benjamin
- Truth gets the win via pinfall.

* The Great Khali vs. Dolph Ziggler is announced for The Bash.

* John Morrison b. CM Punk in a Non-Title Match
- Good back and forth action. Punks hits Go to Sleep on Morrison. Morrison gets the win. After the match the shake hands.

* Jim Ross & Todd Grisham rundown The Bash.

* Edge & Chris Jericho b. Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio
- Solid match with lots of back and forth action.

so no one wins the main event lol it sounds like a good show i watched that Edge Morrison match that was a good match it was a good back and forth match

Punk hit a GTS and morrison won?

It ended w/ Starship Pain I believe.

By the looks of the spoilers, Smackdown looks to deliver with matches again, or at least deliver in the best we will see from WWE. The Rage in a Cage thing sounds retarded, I wouldn't be surprised if that will be the new name for Hell in a Cell to go go along with the PG direction.

And these have to be the least detailed spoilers, because apparantly R-Truth now uses a pinfall as a finisher. Why can't the person who wrote this put the move he won with? It honestly is not that hard.

I look forward to watching CM Punk/Morrison.

SPOILERS FOR FRIDAY 3/7 SD

Dot Net reader David Weber attended the WWE Smackdown taping in Fresno, Calif. and send in the following report.

Dark Match:

1. Drew McIntyre defeated Jamie Noble. I couldn't see the finish becuase a huge guy came from backstage and walked in front of me.

WWE Smackdown taping

Smackdown started with C.M. Punk running down the events of The Bash claiming he kicked the referee accidentally. He demands an apology from Jeff Hardy for him attacking him after the match intentionally.

Teddy Long came out and said Vince McMahon liked the way he shook things up at The Bash. He announced that Jeff will get his rematch at the Night of Champions pay-per-view. Teddy announced the main event of Rated Y2J vs. Punk and Hardy for tonight.

1. Finlay defeated Ricky Ortiz. Finlay won the short match with the Celtic Cross finisher.

Backstage. Ziggler and Maria talking about their date last night and they should do it again she wishes him luck tonight

2. Dolph Ziggler defeated R-Truth. Ziggler gets the win with his finisher. The crowd was into Truth a lot he celebrated with the crowd after his loss with [color:47c7=blue! important][color:47c7=blue! important]music

3. Kane defeated Rey Mysterio. Rey gets huge pop followed out by Kane..rey hits 619 Kane counters the West Coast Pop and chokeslammed him for win. Khali came out with a chair and ran Kane off through the crowd.

Backstage, Chris Jericho said his rematch will be next week. He was joined by Edge, who talked about how Punk and Hardy are not on the same page and therefore will not be a challenge.

4. Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Dynasty. JTG got worked for a while until he made a hot tag to Shad, who pinned David Hart Smith for the win.

5. Melina and Maria defeated Michelle McCool and Layla. Melina won with split leg drop on Layla.

John Morrison and Teddy Long were backstage singing Michael Jackson songs about Morrisson beating Punk last week.

6. Edge and Chris Jericho defeated C.M. Punk and Jeff Hardy. The tag champs came out first followed by Punk and Jeff. Punk sold the eye throughout the match by not taking the tag from Jeff. After finally getting the advantage, Hardy slapped Punk on the shoulder to tag him in. Punk traded back and forth offense with the champs. Punk got beat down and crawled to tag Jeff, but Jeff oversold an eye injury of his own. Punk hit Jericho with the GTS, but Edge got a blind tag and speared him for the win.

Dark Match:

1. Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio defeated Edge and Chris Jericho in a steel cage. Extra quick match that lasted maybe a minute. Jeff hit the Twist of Fate on Edge. Rey with an assisted 619 from jeff on Jericho. Then they both hit the Swanton and splash respectively and got the double pinfall.

* Prior to this week's SmackDown, a promo was taped with Rey Mysterio & Dolph Ziggler. Rey talks about Ziggler's attack last week. Ziggler comes out and interrupts. Mysterio challenges him. Ziggler wants the match at Night of Champions for the Intercontinental Championship. Rey accepts. They brawl until finally Ziggler retreats. The crew prepares for SmackDown.

* SmackDown opens with Jeff Hardy coming to the ring to address CM Punk's comments he made last week. Hardy claims that he'll win at Night of Champions. CM Punk comes out and interrupts. He calls Jeff a joke and asks him how many test and classes he failed in school. Jeff attacks Punk after he claims all of Jeff's fans will become a statistic.

* John Morrison b. CM Punk
- Before the match a recap aired showing Punk's loss to Morrison last month. The match was pretty much back and forth throughout. Both men counter finishers. Morrison gets the win with the rollup. After the match, Punk refuses a friendly handshake.

* Layla comes out in a Miami Heat Jersey and dances for the local fans. She is interrupted by Ricky Ortiz who cuts an anti-heat promo. He gives Layla a towel and she drops it.

* Kane b. R-Truth
- Truth jumps off the top rope and catches a boot to the face. Kane win. After the match, Great Khali comes out. R-Truth hits the top rope dropkick. Kane flees through the crowd.


* The Hart Dynasty b. Cryme Tyme & Eve Torres in a Mixed Tag Team Match
- The Hart Dynasty gets the win when Natalya gets the pin on Eve.

* Edge is interviewed on the screen. He says he'll do everything to get back in the ring. Chris Jericho interrupts the interview and calls Edge pathetic. He says he'll find a new partner for Night of Champion and will continue to reign. Jericho then refers to Edge as injury prone. The crowd is behind Edge.

* Rey Mysterio & Jeff Hardy b. Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler via disqualification.

- CM Punk is out to commentate. Jeff tries to throw Jericho into Punk. Punk tosses Jericho to Jeff. The referee calls for the bell. Ziggler lays the referee out on the outside. Jeff gets the Codebreaker. Punk walks to the back as Jeff is in Wall of Jericho. Jericho & Ziggler raise their hands as they exit.

- Show opened with a Jeff Hardy title recap. Hardy came out to celebrate, thanked the fans and said Teddy Long had given Punk his rematch whenever he wants it. Cryme Tyme came out to celebrate with Hardy but I'm pretty sure that's during the commercial. They're out for the first match.

- Winners get Unified Tag Team title match at Summerslam: Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Dynasty when JTG pinned Tyson Kidd ... The Big Show and Chris Jericho are out afterwards, they have mixed their music and pyro together like Rated RKO did during their run, back and fourth between the two teams. Shad calls Y2J and Big Show "Han Solo and Chewbacca."

- They announced Mysterio and Finaly vs. Mike Knox and Dolph Ziggler.

- Promo in the back with Josh Matthews and CM Punk, lots of heel heat on Punk. Punk calls Hardy's win an upset but says good luck to Hardy and Morrison - he's taking on the winner.

- Mysterio and Finlay defeat Dolph Ziggler and Mike Knox in a good back and fourth bout that could have only been better if Ziggler's partner had been anyone but Knox.

- The Great Khali vs. Charlie Haas ends with Kane coming out from under the ring to attack Khali. Khali chases him off .. no offical winner announced. But logic would have Haas winning via count out.

- Jeff Hardy vs. John Morrison was great, lots of back and fourth and false finishes, Morrison kicks out of Swanton, but second Swanton puts him away. Hardy is still the champion.

- Punk out afterwards, face to face with Hardy, words exchange Punk raises Jeff's hand for the crowd. Punk takes the mic and says, "Jeff the last few weeks" and smashes Jeff in the head with the mic and beats him all over the ringside area hits Danielson style elbows on the outside of the ring on Hardy. Walks towards the back adn then turns around and continues the assualt on Hardy to end Smackdown.

Anyways the show looks pretty good. I'll watch to hear Jericho's and Show's theme, Jeff Hardy/Morrison, Michelle's loss, and the ownage of Hardy by Punk.

"I received word today that Hardy will in fact be taking time off after SummerSlam. Sources claim that Jeff Hardy was actually surprised that WWE put the title on him because they had known at that point he was going to be leaving to "pursue other interests". We've also heard that they could be negotiating a deal where Jeff still receives some type of retainer payment for merchandising while he's off television. If they do go with this, I'm sure it would include him not appearing for other televised wrestling companies (possibly any other promotion), but Jeff is telling everyone he does not want to leave to pursue other companies. Given these new reports, it's safe to assume Hardy will be dropping the title again either at SummerSlam or between now and then."

Like I said in another thread it can go back to Punk then to Morrison then to Jericho then I think it will be time for Edge to come back win the Rumble, then he and Jericho can feud and have Edge get it at WM 26 and keep it for a LONG time. lol

As much as I dont like Jeff I AGREE Blue!!! I know Jeff makes them lotsa money but they shouldnt make him feel obligated to stick around if he dont want to, thats not fair to him. Not only that they should start pushing people WHO want to be there, insted of trying to get Jeff to stay they should be making a new star. They got one they could be making on SD-Morrison and another one on Raw that should be on SD-MVP, I think they will make excellent top faces for the SD brand.

Punk as 3 Time WHC sounds good to me. I hope he gets a longer run then his last 2.

* SmackDown opens with the pyros going off. Big Show vs. Shad is on the card. They show a recap of Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk from last week.

* CM Punk comes out for a promo. He shoots on Jeff Hardy before Theodore Long is able to come
out and interrupt. CM Punk vs. John Morrison is announced.

* Jeff Hardy's music hits and he comes to the ring. Hardy sells the entire time at ringside and can barely lift the title before leaving.

* Dolph Ziggler b. Finlay. Mike Knox comes out and interferes and hits Finlay with his shelleigh. After the match, Knox beats down Finlay.

* Kane has Ranjin Singh held captive backstage. He does a 24-style hostage video.

* They do a Maria/Melina promo. It is announced Michelle McCool will return to SmackDown next week.

* CM Punk b. John Morrison via pinfall.

* Melina b. Layla

* Cryme Tyme comes out for an in-ring promo. Huge chants for Chris Jericho.

* Big Show w/Chris Jericho b. Shad w/JTG

* The Great Khali is shown saving Ranjin Singh from Kane. Kane attacks him with a lead pipe.

* Jeff Hardy vs. DH Smith & Tyson Kidd w/Natalya. The Hart Dynasty gets the biggest pop of the night.

* Tyson Kidd & DH Smith w/Natalya b. Jeff Hardy when Tyson Kidd pins Hardy after a springboard clothesline. I'm told there was a massive pop for The Hart Dynasty. CM Punk comes out as does John Morrison. Morrison cleans house as Matt Hardy comes out and takes out CM Punk. Matt picks up Jeff as the Hardys celebrate with John Morrison to end the show.

I think its dumb they turned Matt face again. He was on a roll as a heel. I always thought Matt was a better heel becasue he had more of a personality. lol

They have Matt screw Jeff outta the WWE title, then have their series of matches to only have Matt and Jeff be all fine and dandy again. Talk about lack of continuy.

I hope Matt doesnt cost Punk, but if Punk gets it back Matt will be next in line, so much for Morrison getting a well deserved push.

Jeff Promo: Hardy says he was advised by docs to retire but he won't. Punk interrupts and says Summerslam will be Jeffs last match. Twist of fate for Punk.

Winner: Melina & Maria via Last Call

better, updated spoilers

Superstars:
1) Shelton Benjamin pinned Tyler Reks with a kick to the head that missed by literally a foot, followed by the paydirt.

2) R-Truth pinned Charlie Hass who was wearing new gear - long black tights with a steer skull on the side and kickpads (?).

Smackdown:
1) Mysterio and Cryme Tyme vs. Jericho, Show, and Ziggler. Dolph gets the pin on Rey following a hot sequence including a knockout punch from the Big Show on Rey.

Sit down interview with Matt Hardy with Josh Matthews. He apologizes for everything and Jeff accepted. A lot shorter then I expected.

Kane comes out to cut a promo, Khali interrupts, swats

away the chair and lays the boots to Kane before he escapes up the aisle way.

2) Knox vs. Finlay. Knox had one of those inset promos during his entrance. Couldn't hear it, but Knox was wearing glasses and had his beard braided up for the promo. Finlay wins by DQ when Knox doesn't break a 5. Afterward Knox destroys Finlay with the ring steps.

Hardy promo. They bring out a bunch of ladders, tables and chairs around ringside and the ramp. Hardy says he was advised by doctors to retire. Though he never listened before and he isn't starting now. Punk interrupts and says Summerslam will be Hardy's last match. Punk goes to pull Hardy off of the ladder, but Jeff lands on his feet and gives Punk the twist of fate. As he was giving him the twist of fate, the ladder accidentally tipped over towards both men and hit Hardy's unprotected head while he was in mid-air.

3) Maria and Melina vs. Layla and Natalya. Melina pins Natalya. I sorta zoned out during this one and I don't think Layla or Maria ever even entered the match. Melina knocked over Michelle McCool who was doing commentary at ringside in the middle of the match.

Mysterio backstage promo.

4) Main event: Hardys/John Morrison vs. CM Punk/Hart Dynasty. During Morrison's entrance, the stagehand knocked over both fans that blow Morrison's hair, which was a funny moment and made Morrison laugh. Hardys come out together with their old music for their entrance. Matt pins CM Punk with a twist of fate. Hot finish. In the middle of the match, about 8-10 venders hit the floor with Jeff Hardy Armbands for $20 a pop, and it completely distracted many kids bugging the parents to buy them (which many did, they're making a killing on what essentially is torn-up panty hose). Punk and the Hart Dynasty colored coordinated and all wore black and pink. Matt had new purple tights. The faces celebrated to close the show.

Dark match:
Hardy pinned CM Punk in a steel cage match with the twist of fate. After the match CM Punk layed still in the middle of the ring for nearly 20 minutes before security started clearing people out and the ring crew was breaking down the ring around him. I think he was ribbing the referee who had to kneel beside him the entire time. After a while the referee pretended to do CPR and Punk no-sold it.
