Smackdown Spoilers

- Thanks to Michael Vincent for the following WWE SmackDown tapings results from last night’s show in Portland, Oregon. These will air this Friday night:
* Teddy Long announced matches would be held for the Bragging Rights team tonight.
* Undertaker is shown outside the arena. Paul Bearer has a challenge for him later tonight.
* Rey Mysterio defeated Cody Rhodes to go to Bragging Rights.
* Backstage segment with Kaval, Hornswoggle and Big Show. Kaval can be on the team if he beats Show tonight.
* Paul Bearer cut a promo on Taker.
* Jack Swagger beat MVP to go to Bragging Rights. Swagger won with the ankle lock.
* Taker was shown on top of the arena again.
* Alberto Del Rio beat Chris Masters to earn a spot on Team SmackDown.
* Edge beat Dolph Ziggler to earn a spot on Team SmackDown. Great match here.
* Kaval won a five-minute challenge with Big Show to earn a spot at Bragging Rights. Tyler Reks came out and challenged Kaval to a match with his Team SmackDown spot on the line. Teddy Long made it official and Reks beat Kaval to go to Bragging Rights. Reks looked impressive and controlled the match.
* Kofi Kingston beat Drew McIntyre to earn the spot on Team SmackDown.
* Taker was shown backstage now. Paul Bearer and Kane came out and talked about Taker and a Buried Alive match. Taker came out and fought with Kane, sending he and Bearer to the back. Taker made lightning shoot down on them at the stage. This may have been the end of the show but Kane came back with the urn and fought Taker before running off.

Reks made his return to the brand, beating down WWE NXT Season 2 winner Kaval, who originally lasted more than five minutes in a match against Team Smackdown captain, The Big Show, to earn a spot on the brand’s team at WWE Bragging Rights.

Reks challenged Kaval to the spot on the brand’s team at WWE Bragging Rights, which WWE Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long refused, but Kaval accepted.

The match went ahead, with Reks picking up the victory and now becoming a member of Team Smackdown.

Dark Match: Caylen Croft beat Luke Gallows

WWE SmackDown! Results (Airing This Friday):

Alberto Del Rio opened the show with a promo, slamming the Legends and talking about beating Sergeant Slaughter Monday night. MVP came out to take up for the legends. Del Rio told MVP that the reason he likes the legends is that he’ll never be one, while Del Rio already is one.. MVP challenged Del Rio to a match, but Del Rio said no, because MVP “couldn’t handle him”. Del Rio said that since MVP wants a fight, he can fight one of Del Rio’s teammates on Sunday, Drew McIntyre. MVP beat McIntyre after hitting the Drive-By.

Edge had a backstage bit taunting Paul Bearer, who was still tied up and in the wheelchair. I couldn’t hear what he was saying, though, because the audio isn’t very good at the arena. After commercial, Kane tore up Teddy Long’s office screaming “where is he?” I guess he thought that Teddy knew where Edge was keeping Paul Bearer.

Jack Swagger defeated Chris Masters with the anklelock in a short match. This was followed by another Edge-Paul Bearer vignette.

Kaval was in the ring, and Dolph Ziggler came out cutting a promo on him about all his “internet fans” think he’s “special”, but Dolph’s going to show them that he’s not. Kaval beat Dolph Ziggler in the match that followed, and then reminded Dolph that he was the season 2 NXT champion, and the champion got a championship match at a PPV of his choosing. He then announced he was going to face Dolph for the Intercontinental title at Survivor Series.

Cody Rhodes beat Kofi Kingston with the Cross Rhodes in what I thought was a pretty good match. This was followed by another Kane backstage bit trying to find Edge and Paul Bearer.

LayCool beat Kelly Kelly and Natalya after Layla pinned Natalya, followed by a backstage bit where Edge used Paul Bearer as bait to attack Kane and then drove off with Paul Bearer.

Big Show beat Tyler Reks with a chokeslam in pretty much a squash match.

Rey Mysterio beat Alberto Del Rio by DQ when the rest of Team Del Rio ran in to attack Rey. The rest of Team Mysterio made the save, then Teddy Long came out to announce a “Survivor Series Preview Battle Royal”, since all 10 men in the match were already in the ring.

Eliminations in the battle royal:

Tyler Reks (?) eliminated Masters
Kofi eliminated Reks
Drew McInyre eliminated Kofi
Del Rio eliminated MVP
Big Show eliminated Drew
Rey eliminated Del Rio
Big Show (with an assist by Rey) eliminated Jack Swagger to win the match, then the two of them celebrated to go off the air

Dark match: Big Show defeated Kane by DQ after just a couple of minutes when Kane hit Show with the belt.

So fucking happy they are actually giving Kaval his title shot but damn one days worth of build up?

I'll take it since that is a match I really want to see but I hope the continue to feud since I don't see Ziggler losing his belt just now [or want him to..].

I am looking forward to a couple of the other matches like Del Rio, McIntyre, Rhodes, and LayCool's.

Smackdown starts with a promo from Kane. Edge interrupts and we have a another chapter of Edge and Paul Bearer, this time involving a chair.
The All American American Jack Swagger beat Kaval. Kaval was injured during the match and was helped to the back during the commercial.
In one of the worse matches of the year, Hornswoggle beat the Soaring Eagle.
Up next the IC Title is on the line as Kofi Kingston challenges Dolph Ziggler. The match goes to a DQ when Jack Swagger interferes and applies the Ankle Lock.
Up next is The Masterlock Challenge with Cody Rhodes. Chris Masters won the challenge.
The new tag champs, Santino and Kozlov, beat Chavo and his mystery partner, Drew McIntyre. Post match, McIntyre hit Guerrero with the Future Shock DDT.
Natalya, with Beth Phoenix, beat Layla, with Michelle McCool.
The main event is now a handicap match with Rey Mysterio and Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio.
Early on in the match Kane comes down and fights Edge to the back. Mid match Kane and Edge are in the back for another segment with Paul Bearer. This time there are two ladders set up and Bearer is on top. Kane pushes the ladders off a balcony and Bearer is now dead, courtesy of Kane. That ended Smackdown and there was no dark match after.
Rey signed for all the fans ringside and Big Show had a autograph session for fans who bought the Knucklehead DVD after the show.
Overall it was a great show with match of the night going to Curt Hawkins vs. Trent Baretta on Superstars. Smackdown has a lot of good action on the show with the tag match and Kofi vs. Dolph.

WWE taped this week’s Smackdown tonight from the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana. Thanks to Beau Belgard, PWTorch reader for providing us with full results:WWE Smackdown (Airing Friday)

For the final WWE Smackdown episode leading to the TLC PPV…Edge promo starts the show. He introduces a video montage of last few week’s events, talks about the World Title match this Sunday, and leaves. Pretty uneventful.

Miz vs. Rey Mysterio is later tonight.

Teddy Long and Edge are talking in back.

The TLC match is changed to Fatal Four-way with Del Rio and Mysterio added.

(1) Kofi Kingston & Kaval beat IC champion Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger. Great match as expected.

Miz was interviewed by Jack Korpela. He talks about how he has had a busy week and promises to put Orton through a table on Sunday.

JTG has a new segment called Str8 Outta Brooklyn talking about the TLC PPV. He has a good Justin Beiber joke.

Kelly Kelly and Drew McIntyre are in the back. Drew is hitting on Kelly Kelly, then Kaitlyn interrupts.

“Dashing” Cody Rhodes’s weekly grooming tip is about hair and how to blow dry.

(2) Cody Rhodes beat Chris Masters. Short, uneventful match.

(3) WWE champion The Miz beat Rey Mysterio after interference by Del Rio. Great match. Afterward, Edge runs in to help Rey. Teddy Long comes out and makes a tag match for later tonight with Del Rio and Miz vs. Rey and Edge.

Lay-Cool promo time. They try to call off the tables match, then Natalya and Beth Phoenix come out with a table gift wrapped like Christmas present. After typical back and forth banter, Beth unwraps the table and it’s pink with a painting of Lay-Cool looking like a couple of witches. Catfight ensues with Beth and Natalya trying to suplex Layla through the table, but Michelle saves her.

(4) WWE Unified tag champions Santino & Koslov beat Tyler Reks & Chavo Guerrero.

(5) WWE champion The Miz & Alberto Del Rio vs. Rey Mysterio & Edge goes to a No Contest. Kane interferes to have the match thrown out, Edge and Kane go at it, and the entire roster runs out trying to separate them. All hell breaks loose, Drew McIntyre attacks Rey at ringside, and Edge eventually spears Kane. Awesome Ending. End taping.

Post-Smackdown Dark Match: Edge beat World Hvt. champion Kane via DQ; Kane retained the World Title. Kane hit Edge with a chair for the DQ. Kane tried again, but he was speared to close the show.
