WWE Smackdown on Friday, October 28 scored a 1.93 rating against the deciding Game 7 of the World Series, down from a 2.18 rating the week before. It was the lowest rating since September 16 before Smackdown's hot streak began.
Smackdown averaged 2.84 million viewers, down from the past five episodes that were around or above three million viewers.
Despite an 11 percent overall ratings decline, Smackdown only saw marginal declines in key male demographics (18-34 & 18-49), indicating Smackdown likely lost viewers over the age of 49 to the World Series, which skews toward an older audience.
On cable TV Friday night, Smackdown ranked #7 in overall viewers, #4 among males 18-34, and #3 among males 18-49, trailing only Discovery Channel's "Gold Rush" programming.
