'Breaking Bad' And 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine Top 2014 Golden Globe TV Winners

The final season of "Breaking Bad" was a big winner on the TV side, winning Best Drama Series and Drama Actor (Bryan Cranston). Despite winning multiple Emmys over its first five years, "Breaking Bad" had not been embraced by the Hollywood Foreign Press until now. "House of Cards's" Robin Wright rounded out the TV drama winners, taking Best Drama Actress over frontrunner Kerry Washington ("Scandal").

FOX's freshman series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" was another double-winner, taking Best Musical/Comedy Series and Musical/Comedy Actor (Andy Samberg).

"I never win, so I can't believe I won," said Globes co-host Amy Poehler, taking to the stage to accept TV Musical/Comedy Actress for the first time for "Parks and Recreation." Indeed, it was a rare showbiz award win for Poehler, who has also been shut out at the Emmys and SAG Awards over the years.

"Behind the Candelabra" continued to reign following its sweep of the Primetime Emmys in September. It won Best TV Movie/Miniseries and TV Movie/Mini Actor for Michael Douglas. After her upset loss at the Emmys, Elisabeth Moss took TV Movie/Mini Actress for "Top of the Lake."

TV supporting categories at the Globes combine comedies, dramas, movies, and miniseries, and this year those prizes went to Jon Voight ("Ray Donovan") and Jacqueline Bisset ("Dancing on the Edge").

A slew of records were set at Sunday's night Golden Globes.

1. It was a night of a first-timers prevailing: Jacqueline Bisset ("Dancing on the Edge"), Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad"), Elisabeth Moss ("Top of the Lake"), Amy Poehler ("Parks and Recreation"), Andy Samberg ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine"), and Robin Wright ("House of Lies").

2. Although Michael Douglas earned his fourth career Globe for "Behind the Candelabra," it was only the second one he got for acting (after 1987's "Wall Street"). The other two were for producing film champs "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975) and "Romancing the Stone" (1984).

3. Jon Voight claimed the fourth Golden Globe in his career for his TV work on "Ray Donovan." The other three were for "Midnight Cowboy" (1969), "Coming Home" (1979), and "Runaway Train" (1986).

4. Double nominees losing both Globe bids this year: Lena Dunham (acting and producing "Girls"), Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 Years a Slave," "Dancing on the Edge"), Idris Elba ("Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," "Luther"), Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("Enough Said," "Veep"), Julianna Margulies (acting and producing "The Good Wife"), Michael Sheen (acting and producing "Masters of Sex"), and Kevin Spacey (acting and producing "House of Cards").

5. After never having won a Globe, Cranston walked away with two trophies Sunday night. He prevailed for acting and producing "Breaking Bad". The same goes for Samberg for "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

Yay Breaking Bad! Glad Amy finally won. Congrats to the winners.

I was really really happy the GGs went with Breaking Bad and Cranston for Drama Series/Drama Actor!

I would have liked Aaron Paul to also win for Supporting Actor but that category was pretty good and I did like Jon Voight on Ray Donovan.

Robin Wright winning for House of Cards was a shocker but it was the only performance in that category I saw so I'm happy she pulled off the upset!

I don't really watch many comedies (especially the ones that were nominated) but I was happy to see Poehler FINALLY win something.

I'm glad Jon Voight won as well. He did good. I don't watch a lot of these comedies either. I might see what Dancing on the Edge is about.
