The rising date of interest in last week's WWE Raw carried Friday's Smackdown to one of the highest ratings of the past year.
Smackdown on January 24 leading into the Royal Rumble PPV scored a 2.15 rating, up from a 2.11 rating the previous week.
The show was tied with the November 22 episode for the highest Smackdown rating since February 2013. It was also the first time back-to-back episodes scored above a 2.1 in two years going back to February 2012.
- Smackdown averaged 3.029 million viewers, up four percent from last week's average. It was the most viewers since the Nov. 22 episode.
- On cable TV Friday night, Smackdown ranked #2 in overall viewers behind "Gold Rush" on Discovery, #6 in males 18-34, and #3 in males 18-49.
The demographic ratings indicate that Smackdown's bump was from older males 34-49 and younger viewers, whose Friday night viewing habits fluctuate from week-to-week. | |
