Jack Swagger to Raw

On February 15, 2008, Jack Swagger and Ted DiBiase wrestled one another down in Tampa, Florida to determine who would become the first ever Florida Heavyweight Champion.
Many observers noted that the match featured two guys who could some day become major players in the main event scene of WWE. All eyes remained on them while they were in developmental together.
Management brought Jack Swagger up to the ECW brand on September 9, 2008. He was given an undefeated streak to build credibility. It didn't take long for him to become the ECW Heavyweight Champion.
It was clear that management saw something in Jack Swagger.
On Monday, the company decided to move him over to the Raw brand to see what he can do under the bigger spotlight. Jack Swagger is now officially on Raw.

Jack Swagger may be slightly overrated, but he is good enough overall to be pushed towards the top of the card on Raw. He's not ready for the main event scene yet, but he can be an upper midcard wrestler right now.
WWE needs to push him, and they need to do it fast. They need to quickly establish his credibility (a lot of Raw fans don't tune into ECW) and momentum.
To do so, it might be a good idea to have him immediately winning the United States Heavyweight Championship.
That's a title that sadly does not require a ton of credibility to hold. Plus, it fits into his All American gimmick to hold a belt that contains the word "United States" in it.
It might also be a good thing to leverage Randy Orton's momentum to help build up Jack Swagger. The company teased a little something between the two on Raw this week, so it wouldn't be a complete shock to see him align himself with Legacy.
People might complain that he doesn't fit into Legacy because his father wasn't a professional wrestler, but Jack Swagger does fit every other criteria for the group.

The following feuds are potential programs for Jack Swagger to participate in.

  • Kofi Kingston - Jack Swagger needs to "steal" the championship from Kofi Kingston. It will give him a belt to wear. Plus, there will be heat from the audience because he cheated to win the belt.
  • MVP - MVP's mic skills should enable this feud to do well. Plus, the difference in their background makes for some potentially great promos.
  • Shawn Michaels - After feuding with those two guys in the midcard, Jack Swagger should be ready to step up into the main event. No better person on the roster than Shawn Michaels to help him get there.
  • John Cena - WWE teased this program before on an episode of Raw, and it looked like it could be something special. Once Jack Swagger gets into the main event scene, this feud has to happen.

Batista/Pacquiao Movie

In case you're wondering what Batista is doing with his time away from WWE, it's acting.

The former World Heavyweight Champion has signed on to do a movie with boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao. The two have a close friendship in real life. Batista accompanied the storied boxer during his fight against Ricky Hattan earlier in the year.

According to reports, Manny Pacquiao will be the lead hero while Batista will play the role of lead villain. The ridiculously gorgeous Nicole Scherzinger (former lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls) will also have a part in the movie as well. Her role has not been revealed at the moment.

The movie will be called "Wapakman", and it will be a comedic martial arts film.

Rosa Mendes Told To Lose Weight

In a rather interesting move, WWE informed Rosa Mendes that she needed to lose weight.

While it wasn't explicitly stated, it is believed that she would have lost her spot on the roster had she not agreed to do so. Days after Candice Michelle was released by the company, word had emerged from the locker room that she was partially released because of her recent weight gain.

To Rosa Mendes' credit, she has complied with WWE's wishes. The belief is that she really wants to stay with the company. She spent two years down in developmental, waiting for her chance at the big leagues.

WWE Signs Serena Deeb

WWE has added an extremely talented female performer to their roster. The company recently signed Serena Deeb to a developmental contract.

The 23 year old Virginia native becomes the latest person to join the WWE developmental program. She is expected to report to Florida Championship Wrestling pretty soon to begin her training.

Her training shouldn't take as long as other people because she was in the Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental program, which is quite similar to the WWE style. Plus, her list of trainers (Al Snow, "Dr Death" Steve Williams, Robert Gibson, Danny Davis, Lance Storm, Tom Pritchard, and Terry Taylor) are as impressive as it gets.

Serena Deeb also spent the past three years working for SHIMMER, which is where most of the top female performers on the independent wrestling circuit work.

Evan Bourne to Raw

In the fall of 2000, a young man by the name of Matthew Korklan made his debut in the world of professional wrestling by working a match at an independent wrestling show somewhere in the midwest.
At the time, very few wrestling fans across the country paid much attention to the guy. In fact, I'm guessing that it's safe to say that 99.9% of us weren't even aware that this guy was on the map.
The guy worked his way up through the independent wrestling circuit. He then started making a name for himself in TNA, Ring of Honor, Dragon Gate, and Wrestling Society X (the short lived wrestling promotion on MTV).
"Matthew Korklan" wasn't the name that wrestling fans were buzzing over. The name that everyone was talking about was "Matt Sydal".
Matt Sydal became so valuable on the independent wrestling circuit that WWE had to give him a chance. He was offered a developmental contract in 2007.
He was called up to ECW in 2008 as Evan Bourne. Thanks to some cameo appearances on Raw, he became a sensation with WWE fans.
A year later, and Evan Bourne is being moved over to the flagship show, Raw. Management wants to see what he's capable of.

A lot of people wanted to see Evan Bourne on Smackdown because there's a lot more dream matchups for him to participate in over there.
However, things aren't completely a waste on Raw. Evan Bourne still has a handful of guys that he can work with to produce some tremendously entertaining matches.
Guys like Jamie Noble and Chavo Guerrero are veterans of the game. They've worked with guys that were a lot more acrobatic and daring than Evan Bourne is right now back in the WCW cruiserweight division. They can play to his strengths and make him look even better than he already does now.
Brian Kendrick, Kofi Kingston, and Carlito are capable of being flashy as well. They might be able to mesh their styles with Evan Bourne to produce some entertaining matches.

Not sure if Evan Bourne is going to be capable of becoming a main event talent like Rey Mysterio did, but it doesn't hurt WWE to at least take a shot at building him towards that.
In order to do that, though, they can't just have him working entertaining matches against those guys that I listed. He needs to work a slightly different style against the wrestlers that are higher on the card.
A guy like the Miz might not be as entertaining in the ring as Evan Bourne, but he does possess the mic skills to ensure that a program between the two will be decent to watch. Keep in mind that Evan Bourne has yet to show any mic skills.
There's a natural rivalry between Evan Bourne and Jack Swagger since they both came up through ECW. Of course, it would have been beneficial for both wrestler to have had feuded with one another over the title, but the company has already lost that chance.
The guy on the roster that can give Evan Bourne the credibility that he needs in order to move up the ladder is none other than Shawn Michaels. The legendary star might not necessarily need to lose to the kid, but he has to work a match that makes fans feel like Evan Bourne can at least keep up in the ring.

Power 25 Divas June 27th

25 - Mickie James
As she's proven several times already, Mickie James is one of the top Divas on the Raw roster. Sooner or later, Divas Champion Maryse must face her one-on-one to find this out firsthand.

21 - Michelle McCool
With a win Friday night, McCool continued her recent hot streak and definitely has momentum enough for her to leave with the Women's Championship when the time is right.

20 - Maryse
Although the Divas Champion may not feel she was at fault for her team's loss on Raw, Maryse must know now that Mickie James is on a mission to beat her and capture the Divas Championship.

19 - Melina
In recent weeks, Women's Champion Melina has had trouble dealing with Michelle McCool, and after SmackDown, she should be worried about how long she'll be able to keep the gold.

18 - Hart Dynasty: Smith, Natalya & Kidd
The Hart Dynasty has proven themselves a force to be reckoned with both on ECW and throughout the entire WWE. Every Superstar should be on notice that these three are here to stay.
