Joey Styles Censored

Freedom of speech is one of the great things about living in this country. Unfortunately, though, freedom of speech isn't something that can be given freely when there are advertisers involved.

Joey Styles has been censored by WWE.

The former ECW commentator created a buzz within the wrestling industry with his comments about president Barack Obama on his official Twitter profile page. Joey Styles is highly critical of the president, and he wasn't shy about expressing it.

Below are some of the comments that he posted.

Quote: "Obama hid from his middle name, Hussein, during the election and now brags about how many Muslims live in America. He's a fraud."

"Obama hid from his middle name, Hussein, during the election and now brags about how many Muslims live in America. He's a fraud."
Quote: "Our marxist president is in the Middle East apologizing for for the USA and snubbing Israel. The disgrace continues."

Quote: "The (Catholic) University of Notre Dame should be ashamed of themselves for having pro-abortion President Obama speak at their graduation."

Quote: "By the way, he used taxpayer money to turn ownership of Chrysler and GM to the UAW which donated millions to his campaign. That's a payoff!"

"By the way, he used taxpayer money to turn ownership of Chrysler and GM to the UAW which donated millions to his campaign. That's a payoff!"

When WWE upper management found out what he had been doing, they basically told him to stop doing it. The fear from the company was that his views was going to be associated with WWE. Management did not want to run the risk of alienating some customers or advertisers, so they decided to force him to stop expressing his political opinions.

Trish Stratus Rejects WWE

A couple of weeks before Wrestlemania 25, the buzz was growing among the internet wrestling community because word had spread that there was going to be a battle royale featuring several popular divas from the past.
Fans started to salivate at the possibility of seeing their favorite divas of all time like Lita and Trish Stratus.
Instead, what they got was Joy Giovanni, Molly Holly (who was a phenomenal worker), and Jackie Gayda. Not to say that these ladies aren't good at what they do. It's just that fans were hoping for more from the match itself.
Trish Stratus never gave an official reason as to why she rejected WWE's offer for her to work the match, so fans began to speculate amongst themselves. Some soured on Trish Stratus and blasted her for "being too good" for professional wrestling.
For those wrestling fans who were mature enough to not pass judgment on her until more of the truth came out, Torrie Wilson recently revealed something in an interview that sheds more light on the situation.

Torrie Wilson recently conducted an interview with the Baltimore Sun's very own Kevin Eck, who is as insightful of a mind as there is in the world of online professional wrestling journalism (a term that is loosely used for 80% of the people that are in it).
In the interview, she states that she was very upset with herself for agreeing to be a part of the battle royale at Wrestlemania 25. She stated that she was quite embarassed by it.
For those of you that have already forgotten (or have conveniently chose to forget), the battle royale was promoted to feature the former divas. However, the match itself was basically just a tool for the writers to come up with a joke for Santino Marella to dress up as a woman.
The match itself was quite rushed. It was entirely sloppy. The women that were involved in the match weren't highlighted whatsoever. You could have taken random female wrestlers from the independent wrestling circuit, and the fans would not have noticed.
Torrie Wilson stated that she felt that the match was closure for her. Wrestlemania 25 was her last involvement with WWE.

In the interview, Torrie Wilson also explained that the reason why Trish Stratus refused to work the match at Wrestlemania 25 was because she knew beforehand how things were going to be handled.
There really wasn't any point in her making an appearance if it wasn't going to be noticed. She would have been just one of the many faces that were basically a blur.
Trish Stratus might have been more likely to agree to a match had it been a singles match against a diva that was close to being in the main event.
It's not that hard to picture her coming back for a match against someone like Beth Phoenix. That would have been a fresh matchup for her. Plus, Beth Phoenix has enough credibility to work a match against Trish Stratus.

Power 25 Divas July 4th 2009

25 - Melina
Despite her victory in the Fatal Four Way Diva Match on SmackDown, Melina's loss to Michelle McCool at The Bash on Sunday cost her the Women's Championship - and six spots on the POWER 25.

Huge typo on wwe.com.. Smackdown had a tag match? LOL

23 - Mickie James
After a win on Raw earned her the No. 1 contender spot for the Divas Championship, Mickie James will finally have her opportunity to face Maryse with the title on the line at Night of Champions.

21 - Maryse
Out of action this week, the Divas Champion drops one spot, but we doubt that is what's on her mind. More likely, she's concentrating on her title defense against Mickie James in a few weeks.

20 - Hart Dynasty: Smith, Natalya & Kidd
The first night of SmackDown was not a pleasant one for David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd and Natalya. Smith & Kidd teamed up in a losing effort against Cryme Tyme Friday night.

16 - Michelle McCool
Last year, McCool made history by becoming the first-ever Divas Champion. One year later at The Bash, she did it again by becoming the first Diva to have ever held both the Women's and Divas Titles.
